| To guarantee the highest safety conditions for students and teachers | The Lorca Consistory will assume, at first, the purchase of the devices and will urge the Regional Government to include it in the next Regional Budgets since education is the responsibility of the Autonomous Community. The Councilor for Education of the City Council of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has announced the installation of air purification equipment with HEPA filters in all educational centers in the municipality. Pérez has reported that "in the Ordinary Plenary for the month of October, the acquisition of high-efficiency air purification equipment with HEPA filters for the municipality's educational centers has been unanimously approved." "All the municipal groups of Lorca have agreed with the need to put all possible means to guarantee the safety and health of the students and the educational community of our municipality with respect to the health pandemic caused by the Covid -19 and, since according to the criteria of the scientific community, the disease is transmitted mainly through the air with the purchase of these devices ". The mayor has announced that "the City of Lorca will acquire air purification equipment with HEPA filters for the spaces contemplated in a study that will be carried out through the Department of Education and with which a list of educational centers in the entire municipality, with the number of groups per center, to provide them with the same number of devices ". Pérez Segura explained that "this investment is the sole responsibility of the Regional Government but, as the Lorca City Council has been doing throughout the pandemic, we will initially assume this task since the safety of our children, teachers, professors and other personnel is inalienable for this City Council ". "An investment that we will make despite the fact that the Lorca Department of Education has only powers in maintenance, conservation and surveillance of public educational centers for Infant, Primary and Special Education". The Councilor for Education has indicated that "the City Council of Lorca will urge the Government of the Region of Murcia to consider in the next Regional Budgets the financial allocation corresponding to the disbursement that the Consistory must make for the acquisition of air purification equipment with filters HEPA ". Antonia Pérez has insisted that "even with the air purification equipment, it is essential to keep the classrooms ventilated as well as to comply with safety distances, the use of masks and other protection measures, therefore, from the City Council we will send a circular with reminder character to educational centers ". The Councilor for Education has reported that "we are also going to urge the Ministry of Education and Culture to approve the subsidy bases, procedures and budgetary items so that the City Councils of the Region of Murcia can continue with the extraordinary cleaning tasks through the extension of the same as of January 1, 2020, until the reinforcement of said work is necessary ".
