The PP proposes a Municipal Emotional Orientation Plan to help students of schools and institutes to overcome the effects of social restrictions (03/11/2020)

| Pedro Mondéjar: "It is a measure to support in overcoming traumas, concerns and anxieties that this situation generates | We cannot allow this pandemic to leave generations of people with trauma.

It is time to react and prevent "The Councilor for Education in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, Pedro Mondéjar, has underlined the need for all areas and administrations to take into account and generate avenues of action with the students of our educational centers.

According to the laws of the local administration, one of the competences of the local administrations in education is the implementation and help in the development of complementary activities and it is time to put it into practice and stand up for our children, students and teachers. In a few years, the internalization of all these small traumas will come to light, being one of the factors that more psychological pathologies will generate and we are responsible and at the same time we are in time to help mitigate these fears, frustrations as much as we can and anxieties of our students and future citizens. To face this process, from the PP we propose the activation of a "Municipal Socio-Emotional Orientation Plan", with the aim of helping all our students to overcome traumas, concerns and anxieties that this situation has generated and serve as prevention for all the time that still awaits us immersed in this crisis.

We cannot allow this pandemic to leave generations of people with trauma doing nothing about it.Therefore, we propose this plan with different courses of action, all municipal powers and we hope that it will be implemented as soon as possible.

Some of the measures of our "Municipal Socio-Emotional Orientation Plan" will be:Creation of materials for students with which to work on the socio-emotional competence of the consequences caused by this pandemic.Creation of materials for the homes of these students that respond to the needs of families and can alleviate the harmful effects of confinement.Implement social-emotional content talks in educational centers that work on the prevention of this socio-emotional pathology.Implement COVID-19 socio-emotional education workshops in the educational centers of the municipality of Lorca with active, participatory and experiential techniques.Promote the training of families with resources and materials for socio-emotional prevention in the event of confinement.Develop outdoor activities in different parts of the municipality that are conducive to social and psychological recreation of children, causing a mitigating effect of tensions and anxieties.Promote communication and networking among teachers in these complementary activities, to encourage learning of social-emotional skills, mutual support and ongoing well-being.The current health pandemic has caused a crisis, not only in the field of health, but in different areas such as economic, educational, social and even emotional.

The stress and anxiety that isolation, confinement and different states of alarm cause in people are visible in all adults, but unfortunately it is not taken into account how it affects children and adolescents.

Our students most of the time do not express or externalize what this crisis causes them, but many of them suffer these social and emotional movements, seeing how adults do show their fears and that ends up influencing them, in most cases .In fact, the evidence obtained in countries affected by this COVID-19 pandemic indicates that the adverse effects of stress and anxiety caused by this situation can be mitigated if boys and girls have positive relationships with their families and with teachers who have achieved success.

good management of social-emotional skills and that they develop explicit social-emotional learning activities.

"This makes it easier for students to heal traumatic experiences and return to a normal life," warns UNESCO.

Hence the importance that training in socio-emotional skills reaches the entire educational community. The health alert is an opportunity for socio-emotional education to gain importance among the educational community and administrations, experts agree.

In fact, various AMPAS and groups of teachers have proposed that it be given more relevance, so that it is taught in a systematic and transversal way as soon as possible in our centers.Socio-emotional education is more present as a result of the pandemic, according to the sources consulted.

This is indicated by the fact that during the health crisis, even the Ministry of Education and Professional Training has emphasized the need to provide emotional education tools to the educational community.
