The City Council of Lorca shows its concern at the announcement of the total closure of the hospitality industry in the Region of Murcia (04/11/2020)

| From the Lorca City Council, it is expected that new specific lines of aid to the hospitality industry will be enabled to mitigate the serious effects that are being produced in the sector | The Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, together with the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for the Economy, Francisco Morales, have taken stock of the decision to close the hotel business adopted by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.Mateos explained that "on the occasion of the total closure of the hotel industry that has been decreed by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, from the City of Lorca we show our concern first, because we have learned from the press when there are sufficient channels of information to send us these decisions.

""Secondly, we show our concern because we are facing one more twist to the situation that we had already overcome in Lorca, with the conscientious work of sacrifice and effort that all the people of Lorca had done, especially also our merchants and hoteliers ".For his part, Francisco Morales has remarked that "from the City Council of Lorca we will continue helping our merchants and hoteliers from Lorca with all our human and economic resources, as we did this morning before hearing the news of the closure of the hotel business when we presented a new campaign to reactivate the local economy by supporting the merchants and hoteliers of the municipality that we had to suspend a few hours ago due to the new events ".In addition, the deputy mayor and councilor for the Economy has claimed that "a National Support Plan for the economic sector is necessary that includes aid for our merchants and hoteliers and coordinated with the autonomous communities and municipalities so that we can face the serious negative economic consequences caused by this health crisis and the necessary measures being taken to save lives, in order to destroy as little employment as possible.

"Likewise, Morales wanted to "convey the maximum support to the merchants and hoteliers of Lorca", transferring "the need to continue working as a team and in coordination to get out of this crisis as soon as possible."Finally, the mayor of Lorca has indicated that "we understand that it rains in the wet in this situation but, as it cannot be otherwise, we accept and abide by the decision, we will continue to do everything possible, as up to now, to continue in the fight against coronavirus and we are going to follow the recommendations that the Murcia Region Health Council has adopted with strictly sanitary criteria ".Diego José Mateos has insisted that "in any case, and since the Regional Government has adopted this tough decision, we hope that the Autonomous Community will accompany this measure with lines of aid that will alleviate the serious consequences that are occurring in the hospitality sector" .
