The Department of Tourism brings Lorca to all educational centers throughout Spain digitally and begins to market the product 'Lorca On Streaming' (06/11/2020)

Through live virtual visits, the Lorca Tourism guides will make it possible for schoolchildren from all over Spain to get to know the municipality, the heritage and the monuments of Lorca.

The 'Lorca On Streaming' project also enters a new phase where it will be marketed to interested visitors from anywhere in the world The vice mayor and councilor for Tourism, Francisco Morales, has announced the launch of an initiative called 'On Streaming School Visits' for the 2020/2021 school year aimed at schoolchildren in Lorca, the Region of Murcia and all of Spain with the The objective is that they can learn and learn about Lorca's heritage from their classrooms or from home, given the impossibility of physically moving due to the situation we are currently experiencing derived from the pandemic. Francisco Morales has stated that "already during the end of the previous school year and thanks to the collaboration of some schools in the Region, pilot visits were carried out in June to test this new online experience for the school community and it was widely accepted by of teachers and students.

During these months we have been working and improving the proposal to the different stages and the specific curricular contents of each course and they are now being launched as a new product for sale ". The visits will be made through the online platform used by each school and will consist of a live guided tour by a professional both in the exteriors and interiors of the different buildings of the Castle of Lorca, such as towers or cisterns, or the city, depending on the age of the schoolchildren and the places that the chosen product includes.

The duration of the visit is approximately 45 minutes or an hour, with a price starting at € 3, and can also be booked in English. The mayor of Tourism has indicated that, "as usual, during the visit the guide will pose questions and interactive activities with the students, games and questionnaires, and may also include actors representing medieval characters to liven up the visit adapted to the age of the schoolchildren ". At the end of the visit there is a sharing and presentation of prizes or rewards for teachers and students in order to maintain interest during the visit and to be able to answer the guide's questions.

This entire process is completed internally with follow-up work and adaptation to the needs of each class and center so that the visit is as productive as possible for everyone. In this sense, Morales has concluded by stating that "it is an educational experience that, given the difficulty or impossibility of receiving face-to-face visits from schoolchildren as they were done up to now, we have wanted to digitize in order to offer the same service without the need to travel.

In this way, students from all over Spain will be able to learn with us and learn about Lorca's heritage from their classrooms or houses in an easy, educational and interactive way.

" One more step in the #LorcaOnStreaming project The innovative project #LorcaOnStreaming, of online guided visits to the different monuments of Lorca, is also moving into a new phase of maturity. The Councilor for Tourism has indicated that "since June 25 we have brought Lorca's heritage closer to a public who is at home, anywhere in the world through a streaming visit to the different monuments and heritage elements of Lorca with an official guide live through the Facebook digital platform.

Thus, visits have been made to the Castle, Visitor Center, Embroidery Museums, Synagogue, San Patricio or Sanctuary of Virgen de las Huertas, among others.

"From now on, once this initial free phase to promote the product has elapsed, the visits will be carried out on a payment platform, with a competitive price and in accordance with market prices such as five euros," Morales reported . The new program will begin with a visit to the Archaeological Park and the Lorca Synagogue in Spanish and English to be able to reach interested people from international Jewish communities such as New York, Argentina, Morocco and Israel, among others. Morales has stated that "we will begin on November 15, with a visit to the Archaeological Park and the Synagogue, where the guide will lead the visit highlighting the most relevant points and relating their curiosities and secrets.
