| The Multidisciplinary Center for comprehensive care for people and families with rare diseases, without diagnosis and disability "Cristina Arcas Valero" from Lorca already serves thirty users | About thirty users are already cared for at the "Cristina Arcas Valero" Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Care Center for people and families with rare diseases, without diagnosis and disability, in Lorca, which opened its doors earlier this year.In October, a total of 32 users were attending different services.
In the speech therapy service 28 were attended, of which 9 received their therapies online.
In addition, 18 users received the cognitive stimulation service, 5 of them online through video calling platforms.
Finally, the physiotherapy service had 9 users, of which 2 were online.The center is located on Prolongación de Abellaneda street and has a lobby, a large multipurpose room, Management and Social Work offices, a gym and several rooms to house direct care services such as speech therapy, cognitive stimulation, physiotherapy or psychological care.
D'Genes services are also completed with other services such as job orientation, information and guidance, family respite, online psychological support, educational support in the classroom or home care, to which others may be added depending on demand.In addition, other programs are developed such as leisure and free time, with activities for young people on Saturday afternoons and in which an average of between ten and fifteen adolescents are participating, and that currently, due to the context of the pandemic It is not carried out in person but through a group video call guided by professionals and volunteers from the association.This center is one of the three that D´Genes has in the Region of Murcia, together with the Multidisciplinary Center for Comprehensive Care for people and families with rare diseases "Celia Carrión Pérez de Tudela" located in Totana and the Multidisciplinary Center for Comprehensive Care for people and families with Fragile X Syndrome and other rare diseases "Pilar Bernal Giménez" from Murcia.
