The Councilor for Education of the Lorca City Council, Antonia Pérez, has been embarrassed by the statements made this morning by the mayor of the Popular Party, Pedro Mondéjar, in which he threatens the closure of the Pilar Soubrier School of Special Education ". Pérez explained that "the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training has reiterated, at all times, its commitment to students with special needs and that is why we work to improve the care of those students with special needs who are trained both in ordinary centers and specialized centers ". The Councilor for Education has shown that "it is truly surprising that the PP of Lorca has deigned to lie and try to deceive with a matter as delicate as special education because it is completely false that special education centers are going to be closed" . Pérez Segura has detailed that "the Education Law Project being carried out by the Socialist Party includes a plan so that ordinary educational centers have the necessary resources to be able to serve students with special needs in the best conditions, end the discrimination suffered by all these students who enroll in ordinary centers and thus guarantee the rights set forth in the International Convention of Persons with Disabilities and fight for the equal education of boys and girls with special needs who attend ordinary centers ". Antonia Pérez has asked "the gentlemen of the Popular Party to stop laying stones on a path about which they have never wanted to know anything because after years of neglect it is now under a socialist government when students with special needs, regardless of the center in which they are in school, they will receive care according to their needs.
