The School Monitoring Commission created by the Lorca City Council meets in its work of continuous supervision of the development of classes in schools and institutes (10/11/2020)

The Councilor for Education of the City Council of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has reported the holding of a new meeting of the Municipal Monitoring Commission. Pérez explained that "from the City Council of Lorca we closely follow the development of the classes in our municipality, therefore, a new meeting of the School Monitoring Commission has been held in which the issues have been put on the table, small incidents and actions that are taking place during these first months of the course ". The mayor has detailed that "the coordination and communication that from the Department of Education we are maintaining with the addresses of the educational centers of our municipality is being very fluid and the information arrives quickly to immediately execute any type of action necessary before possible casuistry of positive thanks, especially, to the work carried out by both members of Civil Protection and the Local Police ". Pérez Segura stressed that "in addition, a school nurse has been assigned to each school and institute so that updating medical data is also a fact and a very important factor that reduces the possibility of infections". The data published by the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia estimates, at the moment, 50 active cases within the educational community of the municipality of Lorca, they are located, fully controlled and, in addition, the Service Municipal Emergency and Civil Protection has carried out extraordinary disinfection on 32 occasions, since the beginning of the school year.

" The Councilor for Education has highlighted "the enormous work and commendable work that the educational community of our municipality is developing in all our nurseries, schools and institutes to organize and coordinate, with the greatest security, the return to classes of the students, as well as the teachers themselves, professors and the rest of the personnel of the schools of Lorca in this new health reality caused by the Covid-19 pandemic ". Antonia Pérez recalled that "this Commission, formed by the members of Education, Health, Social Services, Emergencies and Local Police and coordinated by the Councilor for Education and individually dealt with with the management teams of the centers as well as their Covid delegates, was created by the City Council of Lorca last September in order to assess the health situation in all schools in our municipality ".
