"For her part, the architect in charge of this project, Ana Jiménez has detailed that "once the conservation and recovery works for the damage caused to theearthquake, it is intended to provide the Pósito with a public program, headquarters of educational and cultural institutions, axis and cultural dynamizing center ".The architect has detailed that "we start from a building structure, thought as a closed program to establish the new program, the operation is clear, open it to the city.

Light, Memory and Furniture, will be the axes for this transition from a closed program to an open program.

"Ana Jiménez stressed that "the building, due to its value, beyond its use, must tell its own story.

In an exercise to allow reading its different stages, we emphasizethe Andalusian Medieval Wall (SXI-XIII) recently brought to light, as well as the arcade galleries, the original structure of the Granary and elements of the prison, such as patios and interesting pavements.

We understand the new performance, as one more layer, added to the history of the complex, lighting of arcades and hydraulic pavements, glass and metallic elements in the thresholds of the arches, make up the language of the new proposal using contemporary materials ".The person in charge of the project has insisted that "we have worked to find light, more and better controlled, for this we made new openings facing patios, again, unlike this new stage, the contemporary perforated metal material appears.

Patios and dining rooms, include Recognizable places in any prison use, large tables and chairs make up places of relationship.

We maintain this idea in the design of the new furniture, using the furniture as a meeting space and a place of relationship, completing the intervention ".It should be remembered that "this property is located in a privileged enclave in the historic center of Lorca, El Pósito Alto (S.

XVII - S.XVIII) with a special relationship with the neighboring buildings, sharing the base of the Clock Tower (SXI -SXIII) with the Granary of Bakers and bordering the old Casa del Corregidor, current seat of the Courts ".Built at first as a grain warehouse, on the remains of the second near the medieval wall, it gradually lost its use and was renovated in 1862 as a Jail of the Judicial Party by the architect Juan José Belmonte.
