The CECOVID contributes to decongest the health centers of Lorca (16/11/2020)

| Thanks to the management of 1,500 positive cases and the tracking of 6,000 close contacts since its launch | The Center for Tracking and Tracking Those Affected by Covid-19 has helped reduce the number of coronavirus infections in the municipality by creating more than a hundred 'early alerts' to educational centers and companies, and about 10,000 control calls and tracing. The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, took stock this morning, together with the councilors of Emergencies and Health, Isabel Casalduero and José Ángel Ponce, respectively of the Center for Tracking and Monitoring of People Affected by Covid-19, (CECOVID) , launched by the Lorca City Council on September 21.The Mayor of Lorca recalled that "this week marks two months since the Center for Tracking and Tracking People Affected by Covid-19 came into operation, which constitutes the main measure of the Extraordinary Action Plan against Outbreaks of COVID-19 in the municipality of Lorca (PLACOVID) ”.Diego José Mateos has highlighted that “in these almost two months some 1,500 positive cases have been managed, tracking some 6,000 close contacts of them.

In total, more than 10,000 control and follow-up calls have been made to positives, contacts and negatives in confinement.

There have also been approximately a thousand communications with the different health, social and police agencies, and more than a hundred 'early alerts' have been generated from Cecovid-Lorca, especially to educational centers, warning them of possible positives and close contacts in their classrooms, a task that has also been developed in companies ”.Mateos has specified that "Lorca today has 37 trackers trained from the Emergency and Civil Protection Service, who work from Monday to Sunday, morning and afternoon shifts, including holidays, and keeping a part in reserve in case of any of the shifts suffered a contagion.

In the last two weeks, the number of trackers has increased, with the training of more personnel from the Lorca Civil Protection Volunteers Group, installing two more posts, to add 8 permanent posts, which has allowed to improve the ratio of trackers , currently standing at 1 tracker for every 2,600 inhabitants, well below the national and regional average "..Currently the Cecovid-Lorca provides support in terms of tracking and monitoring to all health centers in Lorca, which has allowed, together with other measures adopted, that they have gone from red to orange level, favoring a more standardized care to your patients.Since its creation, the Center for Tracking and Tracking People Affected by Covid-19 has worked closely with the health authorities of Health Area III (Public Health and Murcian Health Service), highlighting the collaboration in the management of complex outbreaks and alerts early, for which and showing the high level of collaboration, they have representatives in the Cecovid-Lorca (one with administrative functions of the Murcian Health Service and another of Public Health). Also by the Lorca City Council Emergency Service has carried out important advisory work for the start-up of similar centers in the towns of Águilas, Totana, Puerto Lumbreras and Aledo, for which we developed a second edition of the Basic Tracking Course and monitoring. In addition, the Lorca Emergency and Civil Protection Service is also carrying out work for the emergency disinfection of educational centers against possible positive cases in their classrooms; daily disinfection of critical health and care points; reactivation of the vehicle disinfection station, mainly aimed at disinfecting mobile ICUs of 061 and SUAP; the capacity to distribute food and medicine to confined persons has been intensified; and the resumption of psychological care for inmates and others affected by the pandemic.Other actions included in the Extraordinary Action Plan against Re-outbreaks (Palcovid) have also been developed, such as the strategy to guarantee the continuity of the activity in educational centers, launching 'early alerts', as a result of the location of positive COVID at school age infected or contacts in the family environment, and then send members of the Lorca Emergency Service to urgently disinfect the classrooms and common areas where the positive students have been present.

In total, more than a hundred 'early warnings' have been launched, which have required more than fifty interior disinfections in educational centers of the municipality, which has allowed to maintain school activity without risk for the rest of the students ”.The effort and sacrifice of the people from Lorca, added to the coordination of the involved agencies of the local and regional administrations, has allowed the incidence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Lorca to be halved, in less than two months, placing us by below the national and regional average.

It should be noted that the significant decrease in positive cases experienced by Lorca in less than two months with a sustained decline is carried out in a very adverse context with an exponential growth of the pandemic in the Region of Murcia and in the rest of Spain, which is a greater merit if possible. The Lorca Emergency and Civil Protection Service will continue to fight against the pandemic together with the rest of the municipal services and autonomous organizations involved with the measures developed previously.

In order to face a possible third wave in winter, a second Extraordinary Action Plan against Outbreaks of COVID-19 is currently being worked on, which enhances the measures applied in the previous one, reinforcing it with the experience acquired in these last two months.
