The Department of Health makes an investment of 37,195 euros that will allow the expansion of the sanitary facilities of this district, whose start of work will be imminent and whose execution will be compatible with the maintenance of health care at the Special Isolation Point simultaneously while they last expansion work. The Local Government Board has approved, this Friday, the hiring of the project to expand the medical office in the Almendricos district.

This project, which has a municipal investment of 37,195 euros, will make it possible to expand the facilities of this clinic in which, in addition, continuous 24-hour health care is offered through the Special Isolation Point that this medical office has . The mayor of Lorca has reported that "this is a much-needed expansion work, framed in the set of investments that the City Council of Lorca is making this year to modernize the facilities of the network of medical offices in the districts, and adapt them in turn to the conditions set by the Ministry of Health to guarantee the safety of patients and healthcare professionals ". Diego José Mateos has pointed out that "with this project, from the Lorca City Council we fulfill one of our objectives, which is to do everything in our power to guarantee and improve the provision of the health activity offered in the set of districts, making the best facilities available to both the population and the Murcia Ministry of Health to ensure the uninterrupted provision of healthcare for our neighbors.

" Mateos has detailed that "the planned reform will involve the expansion, improvement and modernization of the Almendricos medical office, with the creation of two new consultations, as well as an increase in the spaces for reception and the waiting room, while providing independent entry and exit routes to guarantee the improvement of security according to the protocols against the pandemic.

"With this investment, the residents of the Almendricos district will see these sanitary facilities improved, with which the City Council of Lorca we seek to guarantee the improvement in the quality of care that our neighbors have been receiving ". The work, which is scheduled to begin next week with an approximate execution period of one month, will guarantee, thanks to the measures contemplated within the work project, the maintenance of sanitary activity, for the tranquility of users and professionals, as well as adaptation to the needs demanded by the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia. The improvements also include the closing of the exterior porch, the interior restructuring of the center, the creation of new rooms for the isolation of respiratory patients with suspected COVID in addition to the possibility of resuming the pediatric service, which remains suspended to this day.
