Martín has assured that it is difficult to understand that it is possible to socialize in the terrace of a bar having a coffee and smoking a cigarette, but that it is not possible to "throw a game of basketball or soccer. The councilor of IU-Verdes recalled that for many young people sport is not only a healthy habit, but an essential means of relating, and was convinced that "there are ways to offer the use of public outdoor sports facilities, making it compatible with security measures". In this sense, Martín suggested "optimizing" the use of the sports courts of the schools that dot the neighborhoods and districts of Lorca and of which the City Council owns.

"It is necessary to facilitate the social use of these facilities outside school hours," said Martín, who recalled that it is a historical demand of his organization and, in addition, an electoral commitment of the PSOE.

So far, this option is already possible in the Ramonete public school.

"We don't want young people to have to jump a fence and risk a police sanction to do something as healthy as having a party," he said. To make it compatible with the security measures imposed by the health crisis, the IU-Verdes councilor is betting that the Department of Sports creates a protocol for use and sets up a sports reservation portal similar to the one that exists for the facilities municipal sports where federated sports are practiced.

For Martín, it would be positive to start with a pilot experience in different parts of the municipality and to extend it to the whole.
