Lorca receives a grant of 136,000 euros from the DANA aid fund set up by the Government of Spain (30/11/2020)

The mayor of Local Development and Emergencies, Isabel Casalduero, has specified that "that money, which was advanced by the local administration, has been used to fix, among others, the crossings of the boulevards and roads in Campillo and Torrecilla, affected by torrential rains of September 2019 ". The Councilor for Promotion and Local Development of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, has reported that the Lorca City Council has received from the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function the first resolution by which it is granted a subsidy of 136,000 euros to face up to 50 percent of projects submitted by the City to the DANA relief fund. The Councilor for Development has indicated that "from the City Council we requested through this mechanism, enabled by the Government of Spain, a total of 169 actions, worth 487,000 euros, of which we opted to be subsidized up to a total of one 50%, that is, 243,500 euros.

Finally, 54 actions will be subsidized, that is, more than half of those we had requested, specifically 56 percent.

" Isabel Casalduero recalled that "this subsidy provided for in Royal Decree Law 11/2019 of September 20, eligible for up to 50 percent of the actions requested, is intended to deal with damage caused by storms and other catastrophic situations, to works that have as their object the repair or restitution of infrastructures, equipment and facilities and services, of municipal ownership and competence ". Casalduero Jódar has detailed that "we have already invested almost 136,000 euros in repairing the crossroads of the ramblas and roads in Campillo and Torrecilla, as well as in other actions in drinking water facilities, sanitation and treatment plants, in public schools and other centers as social venues ". The councilor highlighted "the sensitivity, once again, shown by the Government of Spain with the towns of our Region, among which is Lorca, which were most affected by the episodes of rain last year, and the commitment to your recovery". Finally, the councilor recalled that "this aid is in addition to that already approved by the central government and that it covered 100 percent of emergency expenses, covering more than 60 percent of the actions that were requested from the City Council.

At that time, 162,448 euros were allocated to Lorca, to cover emergency expenses caused by the DANA that the municipality of Lorca suffered last September, including the relocations that had to be carried out ".
