Gloria Martín has regretted that, unlike other town councils in the Region, the one in Lorca has not yet developed a protocol that allows the recovery of activity in the municipal network of women's centers that is necessary for many neighbors to obtain family respite or go out loneliness, so that they can focus on their own concerns and their personal and social development The councilor for Izquierda Unida-Verdes, Gloria Martín, has asked the PSOE and C's municipal government team to reopen the women's centers, a demand from the groups that is being neglected despite the importance it represents for many neighbors.

Martín has regretted that the Lorca City Council has not yet designed an Action Protocol for the Prevention and Health Protection for Covid-19 in the Women's Centers, which allows to resume the activity in these facilities. In this regard, Martín recalled that other town councils in the Region, such as Murcia, produced this document more than a month ago, which, in addition, they have transferred to the directives of the women's associations in their municipalities. However, everything points to the fact that in Lorca this work "has not been done", which serves as an excuse for the local government team to keep closed these public facilities that are "essential" for many women to obtain "family respite or leave the loneliness, so that they can focus on their own concerns and their personal and social development, "said Martín. The councilor of IU-Verdes pointed out that although there are activities that cannot be carried out at the moment, "nothing prevents them from resuming training actions", as is the case with other centers, which maintain their face-to-face activity by applying the protocols that guarantee adequate hygienic and sanitary conditions. Martín highlighted the importance of not punishing women by keeping closed the municipal network of women's centers, which he said is "a reference for many women in each neighborhood and district of the municipality", and whose essential purpose is to seek real equality of opportunities between women and men allowing the participation of the former in all social contexts.
