The educational law that the PSOE intends to impose will cause the loss of more than 750 places in Lorca schools and the dismantling of Pilar Soubrier (04/12/2020)

| Lorca parents will not be able to choose the school they want for their children, and it will be the PSOE government that decide for them | Tomorrow the Popular Party in Lorca undertakes a collection of signatures to try to stop the imposition of this law The Councilor for Education in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, Pedro Mondéjar, has anticipated this morning that the educational law that the PSOE of Diego José Mateos and Pedro Sánchez tries to impose will cause the loss of more than 750 school places in Lorca centers The dismantling of the Pilar Soubrier special education school, as the main direct consequences, in addition, that it will no longer be the parents who have the option to choose in which school their children will study, but will lose that freedom, and it will be the government that decide it. Pedro Mondéjar explained that the government will decide, above the parents' opinion, where their child with special educational needs is enrolled, with a political decision prevailing over the educational one.

The objective is to strangle the Special Education centers, among them our Pilar Soubrier, who is going to be dismantled with the excuse of inclusion in ordinary centers.

Inclusion that they seem to be unaware of, because in reality, the centers have been inclusive for a long time, welcoming 90% of these students. The PSOE of Diego José Mateos and Pedro Sánchez also eliminates the freedom of parents to school their children in the center that they consider.

And all because of an unhealthy obsession to end educational freedom, putting the power of the State before the freedom of people.

What the PSOE wants is to decide for us and establish an authentic educational dictatorship.

They are politicizing education with a model of indoctrination, following the model of countries as free and democratic as Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea. It is paradoxical that this PSOE law also attacks concerted education, in which Pedro Sánchez, 13 of his ministers and a huge number of socialist politicians from Lorca and Murcia have studied, among others.

However, the PSOE now wants that when parents want to opt for one of the three concerted centers that exist in Lorca, Madres Mercedarias, San Francisco or Ciudad del Sol, they will not be able to do so either.

This means that they will lose many places, and educational lines, placing them on the brink of their disappearance.

We are amazed at how the government is dedicated to fracturing society, breaking it, confronting us, at the national and local level, and that has its damaging effects on Lorca. Diego José Mateos and Pedro Sánchez will force that schools can only host students from their area of ??influence, so that those centers with a more dispersed population, such as district schools, which are making an effort to attract students from the center of Lorca, with constant innovation, they will be severely affected and lose many students. At this point, all Lorca are aware that the educational law that the PSOE of Diego José Mateos and Pedro Sánchez is an unprecedented setback, has avoided social dialogue and imposes a radical setback of the educational system guided by exclusively political interests. The Lorca socialists are delighted with the words of their minister of education, who maintains that "The children are not their parents", and they have taken it so seriously that now they want to be the socialists who decide what, how and where they will study our children.

We demand that the rights of families and their educational freedom be respected and that parents have the freedom to take their child to the school they want. That is why we have started a campaign to collect signatures, for the repeal of this educational law and in defense of the freedom of citizens.

For this, the headquarters of the Popular Party will remain open for all people who wish to sign, and pickups will be made at street level starting tomorrow in Alameda de la Constitución, on Wednesday in Plaza de San Vicente, on Thursday at the market weekly and Friday in Plaza de Colón.
