The Lorca City Council begins cleaning several lots in the San Cristóbal neighborhood that, in recent years, have accumulated a large amount of garbage (09/12/2020)

Diego José Mateos: "from this government team we will continue to undertake all those actions that are necessary to maintain the safety, integrity and health of our neighbors." The Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, together with the Councilor for Urban Planning, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, have reported the start of cleaning work on several lots located in the San Cristóbal neighborhood. Mateos explained that "these are three plots that are located on Calle Abril, whose cleaning work will cost 1,300 euros; on Calle Tizón, between Calle Espejo and Riquelme, with an amount of 1,815 euros; a third located between Ponce de León, Calvario Viejo and Riquelme streets, with a cost of 1,452 euros ". The first mayor has detailed that "the work will consist of the removal of all the organic remains that have been deposited in said plots, as well as the weeds" and has recalled that "these are lots of difficult access for machinery of cleaning because they present great unevenness and slopes which, without a doubt, will make difficult the works to be carried out ". Mateos Molina added that "tomorrow, Thursday, December 10, there will also be an action in a house located on Meca Street, in a property that has been transferred to the City Council.

The patios will be cleaned of the undergrowth and organic remains, as well as the interior of the house, the existing gaps, such as doors and windows, will also be partitioned to prevent access to the house.

This action will have a total amount of 1,573 euros ". The mayor of Lorca has insisted that "from this Government team we will continue to undertake all those actions that are necessary to maintain the safety, integrity and health of our neighbors, on many occasions having to use the mechanism of subsidiary executions with the corresponding charge for the owners of the lots or properties ". Diego José Mateos recalled that "the maintenance of what is known as Calvario Viejo has always been one of our workhorses.

The residents of the San Cristóbal neighborhood have been demanding equal treatment for years and years and, therefore, we have started these tasks cleaning and maintenance because we are clear that despite the narrowness and, in many cases, pedestrianized streets, they deserve the same treatment as the rest of the citizens of Lorca ".
