The Councilor for Health of the City of Lorca, Jos ngel Ponce, has been very satisfied with the news of the incorporation of new equipment for the detection and treatment of breast cancer in the Hospital Rafael M ndez.
Ponce highlighted that "after years of claims and requests, today, we receive good news for our public health, for the treatment of breast cancer in patients in Health Area 3, then, finally, the Ministry of Health.
The Health Department of the Region of Murcia has accepted our request to incorporate the sentinel node detection system for the diagnosis of breast cancer ".
The mayor explained that "it is a fundamental measure for prevention with which, in addition, we will be able to avoid long and expensive trips to patients, contributing in turn to the reduction of waiting lists" .
Ponce D az thanked the Health Area 3 management for "the attention to this request as well as that, finally, it has been carried out." The Councilor for Health recalled that "without going any further, in January 2019 we also took a motion to the Plenary from the Municipal Socialist Group requesting what is now a reality." Jos ngel Ponce has shown that "constancy and persistence have their rewards since we have been insisting for years, both now from the government and during the years in the opposition, thanks to the work of colleagues like Marisol S nchez and the mayor of Lorca, Diego Jos Mateos, who for years have demanded more means for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer in patients in Health Area 3 ".
