[The PP claims to recover the cultural events adapted to the Covid, activate the Christmas programming and reopen the Guerra Theater, the only one that remains closed (10/12/2020)

Lorca is the only city that keeps all cultural events suspended, since practically all municipalities have already adapted their acts to current conditions, and develop them without any kind of problems. The Councilor for Culture and Festivities of the Popular Party in the city of Lorca, Francisco Javier Mart nez, has proposed this morning the elaboration and implementation of a municipal cultural and festivities program for the Christmas dates, as It has always been done by the Municipal Council, but including the adoption of all the necessary security regulations against Covid-19. Francisco Javier Martínez explained that practically all the Spanish municipalities are developing cultural and leisure activities, both specifically for this Christmas, and in general throughout the months.

And it is that the need to respect sanitary norms against the pandemic cannot be translated exclusively into the total elimination of social and cultural initiatives, but the current mayor has the obligation to adapt these proposals to the current context, but, in In any case, you should make the mistake of suspending everything.

In fact, many municipalities in our environment have continued with their cultural events duly adapted to the circumstances, as is the case, for example, of the guilas auditorium programming, the Murcia Christmas program, acts in the Romea and Circo theaters, as well as events of different types in Calasparra, Cartagena and Hu rcal-Overa. Lorca do not deserve to have the Guerra Theater closed for nine months, and we demand that it reopen its doors.

It is the only theater in the entire Murcia region that has not reopened, and the current situation is no excuse for this, since the planned programming could have been continued simply by adapting its development to the circumstances; reducing capacity and implementing ventilation measures.

Practically all Spanish municipalities have done it, but here they have not wanted to. We propose that Lorca have a Christmas program adapted to the circumstances, which is disseminated as soon as possible, enjoying the multiple scenarios in open spaces that our city has, and we demand that the current mayor raise the "bolt" on the culture that it has imposed on the city, because it is evident that these acts can continue, as it has been possible in other areas.

What does not make sense is to leave people without any alternative of leisure and culture, emptying the offer that our city should offer, once it has become clear that the celebration of these activities with the necessary measures does not constitute major problem. With the aim of drawing attention to the need for Lorca to regain his cultural pulse, Francisco Javier Mart nez has chosen to make his intervention before the media using one of the most deeply rooted traditions in the cultural heritage of our region, the trovo, indicated the following: In this year 2020 and at this point, today we come here to ask for more culture. And how will I do it in a joyful and intense way I have decided to summon the entire press. It is not understood that at the gates of the XXI century cultural events in Lorca there are none. I don't know if it will be due to lack of desire or illusion But the truth is that we Lorca suffer from this mismanagement. Nobody has spoken of the Guerra Theater, the only one in the Region that is closed. Although they claim from the town hall which is a ventilation problem, then they will tell them that I lie when in fact it is lack of foresight. But if you want we can go to the street where people don't even go out anymore. Well, to the PSOE of Lorca having the city empty is also worth it. In case someone hasn't understood it yet: They do not even warn of the ignition, because they don't care if the merchants suffer, as much as pedestrians. We already saw it last year when they barely lit up a road. At least in front of San Fernando they have hung a hose again. Lights that will not be seen from afar, and much less in some district, which are abandoned, both at night and during the day. But let's go back to the culture, because that's my madness. No music no concerts, no acts for children, nor in open places. And so while art dies, we check very sad that the PSOE does not want. Maybe they don't do anything for comfort or because the city doesn't give a damn.
