The mayor of Oeneg s, Mar a Dolores Chumillas, recalled that "as a result of the coronavirus health crisis, most groups have seen their actions paralyzed, so that from the Lorca City Council we have launched a Extraordinary help for all those groups that have requested it.

" The Councilor for Oeneg s of the Lorca City Council, Mar a Dolores Chumillas, has attended, this morning, the presentation of the charity calendar that the Down Lorca Association carries out every year and that has the collaboration n of the Lorca Consistory.

The councilor of Oeneg s recalled that "there are many actions carried out by this group throughout the year with the aim of raising the necessary funds to carry out programs for people with Intellectual Disabilities, and that They can develop a full life in all areas of their lives.

" Mar a Dolores Chumillas has added that "like the rest of social groups, as a consequence of the health crisis caused by the coronavirus, Down Lorca has also seen all these actions paralyzed, with the uncertainty that COVID-19 is Supposing for everyone, as well as concern for the new needs that have arisen in this and in the other organizations ".

Chumillas stressed that "for all this and with more enthusiasm than ever Down Lorca has been able to carry out its annual Solidarity Calendar 2021.

In addition, from the Lorca Consistory, aware of the situation they are going through These groups have launched an extraordinary aid with which we intend to alleviate the reduction in income that has occurred due to this inability to carry out activities.

A total of 64,000 euros, which, in an equitable way, will be distributed among all those groups that have requested help from the Consistory, including Down Lorca, Alzheimer Lorca, Aema III, Apat, Asdifilor, the Parkinson Association and El Buen Camino.

For his part, from Down Lorca, its president, Pepe Ortuño, has specified that "this calendar has been possible thanks to a group of photographers, (some amateurs and other professionals), who have offered to participate altruistically and with which we hope to recover from a very difficult year and for which no one was prepared.

" In addition, he pointed out that "the main objective is to improve the quality of life of people with Intellectual Disability and for this we have different services and multidisciplinary professionals who work daily to respond to the needs of these people, thus offering the most standardized integration and inclusion possible ".

For this year, a total of 2,000 calendars have been put on sale that can be purchased at the Association's own headquarters, located at Calle Lope Gisbert, 26, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m.
