| With a hundred new pieces that represent the entrance of the Holy Family to Egypt | The entrance to the Bethlehem, which can be visited until January 6, has been enabled at the side door of the Palace located in Plaza Concha Sandoval and the exit will be through the door of the main facade, with the capacity being m Maximum of 50 people.

The Mayor of Lorca, Diego Jos Mateos, the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Artesan a, Francisco Morales, the Councilor for Culture, Mar a ngeles Mazuecos and the General Director of Artesan a, Carolina Espinosa, have inaugurated this morning, the Monumental Municipal Nativity Scene located in the Guevara Palace.

Diego Jos Mateos explained that "today, and in a very different way from last year, we inaugurate the now traditional Monumental Municipal Nativity Scene which, every year, thanks to the Lorca Nativity Scene Association, we install in the cloister of one of the the jewels of our municipality, the Guevara Palace ".

Mateos Molina has detailed that "the Nativity Scene, structured in a set of integrated modules that occupy the 36 square meters of the platform located in the center of the arcaded cloister of the Palace, is articulated around 1st century Palestine, highlighting the towns of Nazaret and Bethlehem separated by Mount Carmel and the great novelty of this edition is the realization of a hundred new pieces that will make up the great representation of the entrance of the Sagrada Familia to Egypt, fleeing the massacre of the Holy Innocents decreed by Herod the Great.

" The Mayor has specified that "the theme has been worked on, despite the pandemic, by the technical team of the workshop, recreating the great river port of Edf with its Egyptian and Phoenician ships, as well as the spectacular Temple of Horus, god son of Osiris and Isis, which was built in 237 BC by Ptolemy III and whose walls served as a home for the God but, also, the so-called 'feast of the beautiful encounter ', in which once a year the goddess Hathor was seen with Horus in her sacred abode.

The statue of the goddess was transported in a ceremonial boat until she met Horus, who was waiting for her in the temple.

" "It is this procession that is captured as the main scenography, for which all the ceremonial elements have been made (Egyptian chariot, jewels, sacred boat, feather dusters), and the Egyptian heritage has been implemented in about one hundred unique figures.

All the constructions have been investigated with documentation of the period and, after an original creation process, with some buildings and architectures that try to avoid anachronisms.

All this makes this Nativity scene a benchmark within the Federation of Nativity Scenes of Spain, which has earned it to be recognized as 'the most monumental in the Region', a meritorious title that in the Last year it won the first prize for nativity scenes in our Autonomous Community, being visited each year by more than 30,000 people ".

The mayor of Lorca has indicated that "El Bel n, which opens today and can be visited until January 6, from 11 a.m.

to 1:30 p.m.

and from 5:30 p.m.

to 8:30 p.m., except for days 24 and 31 that will open only in the morning and on January 1 that can only be visited in the afternoon "and has shown that" the circumstances of the health pandemic that we are experiencing also bring with them changes in the Bel n visitor system, this year the entrance has been enabled at the side door of the Palace located in the Plaza Concha Sandoval and the exit will be through the door of the main facade ".

"In addition, in order to access the visit, the use of a mask will be mandatory, as well as disinfecting hands with hydroalcoholic gel and the maximum capacity within the cloister will be 50 people, who must respect social distance at all times, in compliance with the safety regulations established by the health authorities ".

Diego Jos Mateos has thanked "the enormous work for the heritage of Lorca that the Belenista Association of Lorca carries out not only during these dates allowing us to enjoy a Nativity whose greatness has been awarded several times if not throughout the whole This year, many hours have been used to create this great Nativity scene and they begin almost uninterruptedly as soon as the Bethlehem of the previous year ends ".

For his part, the deputy mayor and councilor for Crafts and Tourism, Francisco Morales, wanted to take advantage of the opening of the municipal Bel n to "show support for a key piece of promotion of Lorca such as crafts.

Councilors for Culture and Tourism are fully committed to making known once again, together with the general direction of Crafts, the artisan wealth of the municipality of Lorca, an artisan municipality that, I take the opportunity to remember, this Friday inaugurates a Christmas Market of Crafts as a Special edition of FERAMUR ".

Francisco Morales has stated that "from Tourism we are committed to continue facilitating the dissemination of artisan nativity scenes and for this the hermitage of San Roque, home of the Bel n de Lorca Museum, will have official guides.

We believe that Lorca has a lot to offer to the visitor and tourist, and of course to the Lorca, and for this reason we want to make it known both in the urban area and in districts.

In this sense, we will soon materialize the Artisan Route from tourism, culture and associations nativity scenes and artisans ".
