Lorca City Council shows its surprise at the opposition of the popular municipal group to the creation of a citizen security group within the structure of the Local Police of Lorca. In relation to the press conference held by the mayor of the Popular party of Lorca, Mr.
Mar a Bel n P rez Mart nez, this union expresses itself in the following terms: 1.
That by the Councilor for Citizen Security of the Hon.
Lorca City Council is going to create a unit specialized in citizen security functions, which has the support of the majority unions within the Local Police Corps, similar to those created in other municipalities throughout the national geography , in order to give an agile and immediate response to citizen demands in this matter, and that in no case are they about anti-riot units as Mrs.
Bel n P rez wants to suggest. 2.
Regarding the acquisition of new vehicles, it is the commitment made by the current Government Team with the staff of the Local Police to renew the mobile fleet of the Corps, since they had to perform its service with vehicles with more than 15 years old and more than 600,000 kilometers behind them, all due to the neglect and abandonment suffered by the Local Police of Lorca in the 12 years in which Ms.
P rez was a citizen security councilor for this City Council. 3.
Regarding the material incorporated in the new vehicles, this was already supplied in the old vehicles (mallets, shears, etc.), being essential material for any type of unforeseen service of which it is habitual in which the Local Police participate.
Otherwise, that Mrs.
P rez explain to us how we access a closed house in case of fire and with people inside it, to give just one example, since this type of situation has occurred and she should be aware of these. 4.
Regarding the productivity supplement of 300 Euros, either you are misinformed or advised or you are blatantly lying, something that unfortunately we are already used to suffering in this Body as you are the delegate councilor in this matter. 5.
That one of the requirements to be a member of this unit consists of carrying out a combat police shooting test, this being a shooting modality carried out by the Security Forces and Bodies in their practices with firearms, and specifically, the Local Police of Lorca, three annual practices.
The city of Lorca is a safe city, and that is due to the work of this and other Security Forces of our city, and we, like the rest of the citizens, want a Local Police formed and prepared for any unforeseen event. 6.
From this union we do not know what kind of a hundred the mayor of Lorca sees, what we do know is that you demand citizen security for the neighborhoods and districts in each press conference that you offer, but you oppose the creation n of this specific unit for Lorca and its citizens. 7.
In reference to the 18 months lost in terms of citizen security, you are wrong and you are wrong a lot, since the security of this municipality does not depend on the current mayor, or the previous one or the one that succeeds the current one, citizen security This municipality depends on the colleagues of the Local Police of Lorca, who work every day to make Lorca a safe and comfortable city, regardless of who governs, and that, fortunately, will not be able to change or you or whoever comes after you. That, for all this, from this union, we ask Ms.
Mar a bel n P rez Mart nez to rectify the statements made, since, otherwise, she will make us think that she cares little or nothing the Corps of the Local Police of Lorca and the security of our city and our neighbors, and that it only moves for partisan interests.
