[The Sports Council invests 47,500 euros in the replacement and reform of the lighting of the 'Juan Casuco' football field (19/12/2020)

The works consist of the installation of the tower that fell a few months ago as a result of the wind, the reinforcement of the rest of the existing columns, and the replacement of the rest of the projectors with Led spotlights, which means greater efficiency and energy optimization of this facility.

The mayor of Lorca, Diego Jos Mateos, together with the Councilor for Sports, Irene J dar has visited the replacement and reform of the lighting that is being carried out in the 'Juan Mart Soccer Field nez Casuco '.

As a result of an episode of strong gusts of wind that we experienced a few months ago, one of the four lighting towers collapsed completely, leaving one corner of the pitch without sufficient lighting.

The Councilor for Sports explained that "for this reason, the Councilor for Sports of the City of Lorca decided to carry out these works, worth 47,576.13 euros, which consist of a series of important lighting improvements in the 'Juan Casuco'.

Specifically, a new lighting tower will be placed in place of the one that fell, as well as the reinforcement of the rest of the existing columns, the replacement of the rest of the the other three towers by Led spotlights, as well as their regularization.

With this, we also achieved a reduction in power and greater energy efficiency and optimization of the installation.

" Irene J dar has indicated that "with this project three clear objectives are met; the first, to reinforce the security of the existing lighting towers, plus the incorporation of a new one, the second, to substantially propitiate a reduction of energy consumption of the electrical installation that directly entails economic savings for our City Council of Lorca, which is all of us.

Specifically, the power reduction will be 29,780w, with the replacement of the existing luminaires, according to technical reports; and the third objective of offering our athletes facilities with the best possible benefits to promote sports practice with the greatest guarantee of safety and lighting in this case".

J dar P rez has highlighted that "as it is collected from numerous organisms and administrations; European Union, the State, Communities, Autonomous Communities, and local entities assume the responsibility of contributing to energy efficiency of buildings and public facilities, promoting low-consumption actions, exercising an exemplary role, and reducing maintenance costs in a profitable and sustainable way.

With this action, and all those that we are undertaking, such as the replacement Led at CD Felipe VI, at CD San ??Antonio, or at Art s Carrasco, among other municipal sports facilities, we join in this responsibility that benefits us all ".
