And also a special mention to essential workers, both public and private, and to all municipal employees who, with their work, have allowed the City Council to continue with its normal operation, trying to that the attention to the citizen was not affected ".

Mateos Molina has highlighted "the tireless work carried out by the different municipal services, and all the efforts aimed at the fight against Covid-19, with pioneering initiatives such as the Rest Area for Carriers installed in the Art s Carrasco Stadium, unique in all of Spain; the creation of the Municipal Center for the tracking and follow-up of those affected by Covid-19, CECOVID, an example for the entire Region, an action that we can say was undoubtedly the turning point at the worst moment of the pandemic in Lorca; or the COVID sample point in Ifelor, which allowed the number of daily PCR tests to increase and thus decongest the health centers of Campillo and San Diego, so far collapsed.

" The Mayor recalled that "this health crisis has led to a social and economic crisis, which is why, from the first moment, from the City Council we reinforce the care and assistance to the most vulnerable groups, and guarantee them the access to products from first necessity, as well as other fundamental issues such as access to medicines.

During this year, more than 1.8 million euros have been allocated to meet the social needs of the citizens who are suffering the most from the effects of Covid-19, in addition to the extraordinary effort we have made from the City Council to allocate 150,000 euros to the groups of the third sector that are having the worst ".

And in the economic sphere, the mayor of Lorca has referred to the subsidies mobilized from the Consistory for one of the sectors most affected by the consequences of the health crisis, for the hospitality sector to which 500,000 were allocated euros.

Diego Jos Mateos has pointed out that "the cleaning and disinfection of the streets of the neighborhoods and districts has been another of the fundamental aspects and for which we have counted on the collaboration of the agricultural and livestock sector, also n of the ped ?neos of the different councils.

In addition to a comprehensive disinfection of municipal facilities and dependencies, parks, gardens and more sensitive points, such as the vicinity of health centers and schools, among others " .

The Mayor has detailed that "from the Consistory we have also turned to our health workers and all the professionals who have been fighting the coronavirus from minute one have the necessary material to be able to face their work, for this it began a campaign for the preparation of material, thanks to a solidarity flow of multitudes of people who began to make masks, gowns, leggings, protection screens, in addition from the City Council we have delivered masks to schoolchildren through It is part of the 'Lorca Te Cuida' Campaign, as well as hydroalcoholic gels to all educational centers; as well as the masks provided by the Government through the Delegation in Murcia for workers and groups most needy.

" Regarding the initiatives, the mayor recalled that "this 2020 several actions have been implemented and we have achieved it with an extended budget, which did not contemplate many necessary items for our municipality, even so, we have tried to reach all sites, covering the needs of Lorca and Lorca with investments in districts, improvement of sports facilities, cleaning of lots and facades, subsidiary executions for the demolition of buildings, among others.

Looking ahead to 2021, the mayor of Lorca has stated that "this is an exciting year, with great challenges such as the recovery of our old town, for which we will continue working, continue to implement many projects that allow us to continue improving our city, with infrastructures such as the railroad or the Lorca-Caravaca highway as the backbone of the upper districts.

As well as projects interrupted by the pandemic and others that are still pending, such as the sections of the Ronda central, the remodeling of Jer nimo Santa Fe, whose works will begin in the first quarter of the year and San Antonio, already underway.

" Finally, Diego José Mateos has recognized that "the pandemic has put many stones in the way, something that has not prevented the normality of municipal activity without any service having been diminished, but without a doubt these Setbacks have made us all stronger and have prepared us, even more if possible, to face the future much better and thus be able to develop our project by and for Lorca ".
