The councilors of Celebrations, Culture and Education of the City Council of Lorca, Jos ngel Ponce, Mar a ngeles Mazuecos and Antonia P rez have presented a new children's initiative launched by the Consistory on the occasion of the programming Christmas n.
The mayor of Festejos explained that "an initiative has consisted of the elaboration of a story, by the illustrator, painter and cartoonist of comics, Chema Lajar n, and that it is intended for 1st year children, Primary 2 and 3.
It has already been distributed to all the schools in Lorca, up to a total of 4,150 copies ".
Jos ngel Ponce has detailed that "the story tells the story of some children, who, worried about the situation we are living in, pose different questions to their parents such as: What can we do, daddy, to fight against that evil bug ?, all the questions are being answered by the parents, always motivating them towards the hope that everything will end.The fundamental question at this time of Christmas comes to the end of the story: Are the Three Wise Men coming? The parents answer yes, that kings never fail children and that this year they will come loaded with gifts as they have behaved very well.

As for the author of the story, the mayor of Festejos has explained that "Chema Lajar n (Jos Mar a L pez Lajar n) has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Valencia.
He currently combines his work as teacher of Plastic Arts at the IES San Juan Bosco de Lorca with his artistic concerns, such as graphic design, illustration, painting and, above all, the comic.
" He was selected in the Murcia Joven comic contest in 1998 and 1999, he won the poster contest for the Aguilas carnival and has published in a multitude of fanzines, press newspapers, has made book covers, institutional projects (informative books and posters) and a multitude of painting exhibitions, especially landscapes.
Recently He has just released his most ambitious solo work: La Afroyaya, a 152-page comic edited by Ediciones Gotas de Luz.
He is preparing the second book of the Afroyaya, which will be out for the summer.
