[The Extraordinary Plenary of the City Council of Lorca definitively approves the Tax Ordinances for the year 2021 (28/12/2020)

The mayor of Lorca, Diego Jos Mateos, has highlighted that it contemplates "a 75 percent reduction in IBI for merchants and hoteliers affected by the health crisis; the 95 percent discount in ICIO for works adaptation by the Covid-19; and the maintenance of the suspension of the rates of occupation of public roads of tables and chairs in terraces for hotels and kiosks during 2021, among others ".

The mayor of Lorca, Diego Jos Mateos, has announced the final approval, this morning, of the Fiscal Ordinances for the next year 2021, after the end of the period of public exposure and the presentation n of the corresponding allegations.

The mayor of Lorca recalled that "in the extraordinary session of the Plenary of the City Council of Lorca held this morning, the Tax Ordinances of 2021 have been approved, whose main objective is to help those who need it most in the circumstances that we are going through, such as our merchants and hoteliers, to whom the Covid-19 crisis is also having an economic impact ".

Diego Jos Mateos has detailed that "these Tax Ordinances include a 75 percent reduction in the Real Estate Tax for merchants and hoteliers affected by the closure decreed as a result of the state of alarm; the 95 percent bonus in the ICIO for those adaptation works motivated by the Covid-19 and those derived from the damages produced by the earthquakes of 2011; the maintenance of the suspension of the public traffic occupancy rates of tables and chairs on terraces for catering establishments and kiosks throughout the year 2021 and for the provision of weekly market services until June 30, 2021 ".

The Mayor has highlighted that "also include a battery of measures aimed at favoring both the implantation of new industries in our municipality and favoring the creation of employment with tax rebates such as a reduction of the IAE or the ICIO of works on land classified as industrial.

" The mayor has reiterated that "these are Tax Ordinances that, we are convinced, will provide a small relief to be able to get out of this social and economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic." Finally, Diego Jos Mateos insisted that "in these difficult times, we have managed to put political ideologies aside, be responsible and make decisions that have a positive impact on our neighbors.

We of municipal representatives have been able to agree to approve these fiscal ordinances that will come into effect as of next Friday, January 1 and that are beneficial for Lorca.
