[The Lorca City Council announces the 13th Narration Contest for Secondary Education Angeles Pascual Award, organized by the Municipal Library Network (13/01/2021)

The Councilor for Education, Antonia P rez, recalled that "all students enrolled in educational centers of our municipal term who are studying between 1 and 4 of ESO can participate" and have encouraged to a more edition "show the ability that many have to tell stories." The Councilor for Education and Libraries of the City of Lorca, Antonia P rez, has reported that the deadline is now open to participate in the XIII Narration Contest for Secondary Education 'Premio ngeles Pascual', organized by the Municipal Network of Libraries of Lorca. The Councilor for Education has recalled that in this contest all students enrolled in educational centers of the municipal term of Lorca, who are studying between 1 and 4 of Compulsory Secondary Education, may participate. Antonia P rez has detailed, that according to the bases, the contest will consist of two groups; group A for those enrolled in 1st and 2nd of ESO; and B for the 3rd and 4th of ESO. P rez has referred to the characteristics that the submitted works must have, which must be original and unpublished narratives and which may not have been awarded in any other contest, or presented to any n another contest as long as it is open. In addition, each submitted work will have a small sealed envelope stapled to it.

On the outside, the envelope will carry only the Group to which it belongs (A or B) and Title.

Inside the sealed envelope, the contestant's data (Name, Course, Educational Center to which he belongs, group and title of the work). Regarding the presentation of the texts, they must be presented typed double-spaced on one side, on DIN A4 sheets, and the font size not less than 12.

The texts may be written by hand as long as the handwriting is legible.

Each contestant may only submit one narration. The subject will be free and its extension will have a minimum of two pages and a maximum of three.

The works will be endorsed by a teacher belonging to the same center as the participating student and who will attest that the student is the author of said text. The mayor of Education has recalled that "the works must be presented at the Pilar Barn s Municipal Adult Library, located in Plaza Real, and can be done until March 18. As for the jury's decision, it will be final and will be made public during the next month of February.

The prizes will be a batch of books valued at € 200 and a diploma, for the first; a batch of books valued at € 100 and a diploma for the second; and, finally, a batch of books valued at € 75 and a diploma, for the third classified.

In addition, the jury may award a diploma and lots of books valued at 50 euros to those works that it considers finalists up to a maximum of 3 for each Group.

And it will award lots of books of equal amounts to the centers to which the winning students with the First Prize belong. Finally, Antonia P rez has encouraged all the educational centers of the municipality to participate in this contest that each year shows a great quality of the works presented, an example of the great work that is done to instill in our young people love of reading and writing, in addition to fostering interest in storytelling.
