[The 680,000 euros that the mayor of the PSOE received to repair the Miguel Navarro Footbridge have not been used in the official project, and he asks for another 400,000 (13/01/2021)

Mr.

Mateos intends to allocate a total of 1,080,000 euros in repairs on this bridge.

The PP demands Diego José Mateos to clarify the real destination of the subsidy received from the regional government.

This is one more case that adds to the long list of examples of the chaotic management of the mayor of the PSOE, who has already spent 800,000 euros to buy cars, 520,000 to rescue Limusa after ruining it and 5 million euros in just one year. The mayor of the PSOE, Diego Jos Mateos, received a subsidy of 640,000 euros last year from the regional government of the Popular Party for the comprehensive improvement of the Miguel Navarro footbridge, to which was added a contribution municipal of another 40,000 euros.

In sum, a total amount of 680,000 euros that the current mayor is supposed to have earmarked for the remodeling of this infrastructure, but which in practice has not been the case. Let them come here, get on the ground, and explain to the people of Lorca that they have spent 680,000 euros to improve the catwalk.

They promised an employment program for the recovery and improvement of this bridge, and what we find is an absolute abandonment and a subsidy that has not met its objective.

This amount had to be used exclusively for the improvement of the catwalk.

This was indicated by the local government of Mr.

Mateos, stating literally that "the action will consist of the recovery and improvement of the popularly known as Pasarela Manterola." The mayor of the PSOE stated verbatim that "railings, lighting, pavement, painting and landscaping of the Catwalk" would be improved, with the execution of a large battery of works that included interventions in "lighting, pavements, urbanization masonry, auxiliary plumbing and heating-air conditioning operations, auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centers, and decorative construction painting". Well, no action has been taken in any way on railings, or masonry, or plumbing, or pavements, or gardens, or anything at all.

This is worse than ever, and in these days we have been able to verify that an order has even been given by the government of Mr.

Mateos to proceed to the suppression of the lighting installed on the pavement, canceled the spotlights and replacing them directly with slabs, distorting the original project Mr.

Mateos promised that with these economic funds he would "revitalize the San Crist bal neighborhood by improving the pedestrian connection that spans the Guadalent o River and connects the urban area of ??the city with the neighborhood".

This is a huge botch for which Mr.

Mateos has to account and offer explanations, because it is evident that the catwalk has worsened its appearance, and the maintenance it should have is the worst in memory. We have learned, in this regard, that the mayor of the PSOE is going to request a second subsidy with this same objective, something that, sincerely and always looking for the benefit of our city, we hope to be achieved, but first it is necessary that clarify what happened to the 680,000 euros that should have been used to improve the aforementioned catwalk and should have been used in something else. It is this type of entanglement that has caused Mr.

Mateos to have spent five million euros in just one year, pulverizing all the savings that were found in the municipal coffers.

I entered with the city council with more money than ever, today there is nothing left.

The same thing happened to the residents of the area as to those of Marchena with its highway, or to the residents of the Viejo del Puerto road with the urban renewal of their entire neighborhood: they have taken away the money they had for these projects and we don't know where it is. Fulgencio Gil has shown his indignation at the manifest failure to comply with what had been promised, and considers it to be one more example of the appalling management that has been taking place in the town hall by the Mr.

Mateos.

If you've been able to ruin Limusa in a few months, wouldn't you be able to spend the 680,000 euros of the catwalk fix on something else? Lorca needs to close this parenthesis in the city hall as soon as possible and for this we continue with our hand out to the municipal political groups to overcome it already through a Municipalist Pact that manages to correct all this type of nonsense.

It is not normal that after spending 800,000 euros to buy cars, 500,000 to rescue Limusa and 5 million in little more than a year, we now find that the 680,000 euros that should have been allocated to the arrangement of this catwalk have been diverted to other matters at the whim of Mr.

Mateos.
