Antonia P�rez: "We are also going to include a reminder to the Government of the Murcia Region to consider a game in the next regional budgets aimed at fully subsidizing the purchase of the air purifying devices with HEPA filters that the Lorca City Council has made through a municipal investment, with Education being a regional competition ".

Lorca, January 20, 2020 The Councilor for Education of the City Council of Lorca, Antonia P�rez, has reported on the motion that from the socialist municipal group we are going to raise to the Ordinary Plenary that will be held next Monday, January 25, and with which we will ask the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia for the school zoning of the municipality of Lorca as well as the subsidy for the cost of air purifiers in schools.

Antonia P�rez explained that "what we intend from the socialist municipal group is to defend the freedom of choice of school center that parents have, which is fully included in the recently approved Education Law ( LOMLOE), and that the effective application of proximity to the center is a priority in the definition of areas of schooling justified by pedagogical need, sustainable mobility, as well as equitable attention to diversity of the student body ".

The mayor has detailed that "in addition, we hope that the rest of the municipal groups that make up the Corporation of the City Council of Lorca support this motion with which we will urge the Regional Government to design in the schooling areas so that the objectives and criteria for admission to LOMLOE educational centers are met in order to fulfill the criterion of proximity to educational centers ".

P�rez Segura has indicated that "we are going to propose to the Government of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia that the schooling areas for the 2021-2020 academic year, for the municipality of Lorca, be less extensive and include few centers to meet the LOMLOE criteria, re-establishing the zones prior to the determination of a single zone, since all the courses with this system made it possible to reach 90-95 percent of schooling in the first option chosen by families, according to data from the Ministry of Education of the Regional Government ".

The Councilor for Education recalled that "in this motion we are also going to include a reminder to the Government of the Region of Murcia to consider an item in the next autonomous budgets intended to subsidize, in an integral way, the purchase of air purifying devices with HEPA filters that the Lorca City Council has made through a municipal investment, with Education being a regional competition and thus giving ¿½ compliance with the plenary agreement reached on October 26 ".

Antonia P�rez has shown that "from the Department of Education of the City Council of Lorca we have sent a document to the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia in which it is reminded of the agreement to which We arrived during the Municipal Plenary Session in October and in which the acquisition, by the Municipality of Lorca, of the air purifiers with HEPA filters for all the educational centers of the municipality and the subsequent inclusion of the item was approved.
