[The Municipal Emergency Service attends more than a hundred incidents caused by the strong gusts of wind that are occurring in Lorca (22/01/2021)

Isabel Casalduero has detailed that "numerous tree branches have been detached, including whole trees; sheets of various roofs have detached, such as one located on the perimeter of the Ramón Arcas Meca Institute; the displacement and fall of fences has occurred as well as the falling cables, traffic signs, posters, tiles and even awnings.

" The Councilor for Emergencies of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, has reported the incidents caused by the strong gusts of wind that are occurring in the municipality.

Casalduero has pointed out that "so far, the Municipal Emergency Service has received more than a hundred calls warning of incidents derived from the strong gusts of wind that have been happening in our municipality since this morning".

The mayor has detailed that "the incidents that we have collected have been of all types derived from this phenomenon: numerous tree branches have been detached, including whole trees; sheets of various roofs have detached, such as one located on the perimeter of the Ramón Institute Arcas Meca, there has been the displacement and fall of fences as well as the fall of cables, traffic signs, posters, tiles and even awnings ".

Casalduero Jódar explained that "in short, there are quite a lot of incidents.

In fact, at the moment, Lorca is the municipality in the Region where the most events are due to the strong gusts of wind that are taking place." The Councilor for Emergencies added that "the members of the Municipal Emergency Service, Civil Protection, Local Police, Firefighters as well as the municipal services involved have been working since early in the morning; Parks and Gardens, the electrical service and Limusa, to deal with and attend to all incidents ".

Isabel Casalduero has insisted that "we continue to be immersed in the warning at an orange level due to strong gusts of wind, of up to 90 kilometers per hour, activated by the State Meteorological Agency and that it will persist, at least, until 6 in the afternoon." The mayor of Emergencies has recommended to act "with great caution to citizens, avoiding the realization of any situation that may pose a danger, try not to leave the house if it is not essential and if it is necessary to go out that is taking all precautions both when driving as when traveling on foot, avoiding going over cornices, walls or trees ".
