[The PP denounces that the mayor of the PSOE presents as an "achievement" having done only a third of the works in El Portijico (26/01/2021)

| "which was financed thanks to Fulgencio Gil" | Fulgencio Gil left the project done and the money reserved.

Mr.

Mateos hides that this work is paid by the regional government of the Popular Party, and says now, 19 months later, that only a third of the total performance has been done.

And above he affirms that it is an "urgent" work, a curious concept of his urgency.

The Councilor for Works in the town hall of Lorca for the Popular Party, Ángel Meca, has described as "ridiculous" that the mayor of the PSOE intends to "sell" as an achievement that the stabilization works of the rocky massif of Portijico, in the Barrio de San Cristóbal, they are now only a third of their execution, when they had to be finished for months.

Mr.

Mateos, who tries to hide by all means that this work is financed by the regional government of the PP thanks to the work carried out by Fulgencio Gil, intends to "sell" as an alleged achievement that after 19 months he has not yet been able to conclude a work that had to be finished in two and a half, because this project was found with the money reserved.

His only "merit" is to have blocked the work for more than a year and a half.

We have had to insist on repeated occasions throughout all of this type to expedite the comprehensive improvement project that we have already awarded, and which contemplated the consolidation works of the existing retaining wall, having also started the procedures for the expropriation of the solar.

The project that we had planned was much more ambitious and complete, since it included a comprehensive intervention for urban improvement in the surroundings of Calle Portijico that would allow the consolidation of the existing retaining wall, the creation of a new green area on the current site.

and the renovation of Calle Gregorio García.

From the PP we managed to carry out the beginning of the processing of the hiring file related to the stabilization works of the wall located on a plot between Gregorio García and Portijico streets, located in the San Cristóbal neighborhood, an action to which we added the expropriation of the existing site to provide the neighborhood with a new green area with a vertical garden, following the model that has given such good results in the Plaza de la Hermandad de la Curia.

With the consolidation of the wall and the slope of Gregorio García Street, we fulfill our commitment to the neighbors, since it is a priority action that it was important to implement as soon as possible so that the families who reside outside their homes can begin the rehabilitation of homes and can return to them as soon as possible.

This operation was a real challenge, given the complex processing that it has required, in which different municipal areas participated, and the extreme complexity of the technical solution that had to be articulated, also requiring the supervision of external experts.

The works included the stabilization of the existing reinforced concrete wall, through the execution of anchors to the ground, and its continuation until finishing in another reinforced concrete wall of lower height to secure the houses, and in which the screed has been planned.

up to the level of Gregorio García street.

In parallel, from the PP we also began the expropriation procedure of this site to build a green area in the heart of the San Cristóbal neighborhood.

This action includes the construction of a public park and a hanging garden with the aim of decorating the wall.

In addition, a project to consolidate Calle Gregorio García is included in the remodeling project for Calle Portijico.
