[The month of February closes in Lorca with a slight increase in the unemployment rate in the municipality (03/03/2021)

The Councilor for Employment and Local Development of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, has taken stock of the unemployment data in the municipality of Lorca for the month of February.

The Councilor for Employment and Local Development has indicated that "the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) has published data on the number of unemployed in our municipality last February, closing this second month of the year with 30 more unemployed with respect to the month of January ".

Casalduero explained that "the current number of unemployed in our municipality, according to data from the SEF office in Lorca, is 5,744 people, again being the service sector, with 27 new unemployed people, the most affected by this slight increase , but an increase, in the unemployment rate.

" The mayor of Local Development has detailed that "with respect to the rest of areas, the number of unemployed in the agricultural sector decreases, being 791 people, it also decreases in industry with 413, it remains in the construction sector and stands at 535 in the group of people integrated in the so-called sector without activity ".

Casalduero Jódar added that "with the improvement in the incidence of COVID cases both in the municipality of Lorca and in the Region of Murcia and the relaxation of the restrictions adopted by the health authorities that have affected so much the service sector and, above all to the hospitality industry, we hope that hoteliers will be able to recover and this in turn will result in an increase in the number of hires and, therefore, a reduction in the number of unemployed in this sector ".

Isabel Casalduero has insisted that "from the Lorca City Council Government team we continue to work on implementing all possible measures to alleviate, to the maximum, the serious repercussions that this health pandemic is also producing at an economic and social level.
