Francisco Jodar said that "the recovery of San Fernando has been the hardest most difficult situation we have brought forward after the earthquake".
The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar has signed this morning the incorporation of the City of our city to the process of rebuilding the neighborhood of San Fernando, a composed of 9 buildings and 232 homes had to be demolished in whole urban area due to serious damage to the structure of housing by earthquakes in 2011.
The mayor has said that this is a very important moment, which is a real milestone in the long history of work that the municipal administration is materializing from earthquakes.
In fact Jodar Alonso has described the recovery of this neighborhood as "the most difficult situation we had to move forward after the earthquake".
Francisco Jodar has stressed that during this process the City Council has found a large number of obstacles to be overcome to get neighborhood families recover their homes.
Some obstacles have been solved because we have worked together with the neighbors who wanted to re-build their homes, public administrations and the company executing the work.
We emphasize and acknowledge the effort and the special interest has always shown with us the Regional Government, and specifically Pedro Antonio Sanchez and the Minister Francisco Barnabas.
The incorporation of the Consistory is made at the request of the residents of San Fernando who are working their way through the reconstruction.
Thus, the City Council takes over 25% of total construction, representing 59 aliquots, of which it is responsible by applying Replacement Act.
The Ministry of Public Works will allocate a total of almost 4 million euros to this urban space, of which 1.2 million will go to the rebuilding and 2.6 million for the renovation of infrastructure and services.
The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, said that it has completed the process of accession to the reconstruction project in the neighborhood of San Fernando de Lorca, whose houses had to be demolished as a result of the severe damage recorded in its structure, with the incorporation of the City of Lorca to the project.
Barnabas made the remarks after the signing of accession by the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, president of the homeowners in the neighborhood of San Fernando, Fernando Roldan, and the representative of the company responsible for implementing the project of reconstruction, once concluded the land expropriation procedure of the homes that were pending.
"This signature is a new step in the way of renovation and reconstruction of urban space in San Fernando, which is behind a lesson in overcoming hundreds of families," he said.
The Minister said that the recovery of the neighborhood "no longer reverse, since it is a work in which regional and local authorities work together with the owners to ensure their full recovery."
Barnabas recalled that the regional government also directly involved in the project of reconstruction of 232 houses demolished, starting ten of them and two commercial premises, which implies some financial obligations of approximately 1.2 million euros.
The head of the Ministry of Development said the San Fernando "will become a reality over the next few months," adding that in the near future the department will tender the project of urban renewal in the neighborhood to complete the full recovery of urban space .
Action will be taken in the renovation of infrastructure of roads, paving roads and sidewalks, street lighting, provision of parks and gardens, and sanitation networks distribution water, electricity, gas, sanitation and drainage rain, and telephone networks.
This action, which will be held in coordination with the reconstruction of the nine blocks of flats, have a budget of 2.6 million euros and an execution period of 12 months.
