Pedro Antonio Sanchez stressed that this new infrastructure "has all the technical advances and the best equipment to ensure that the National Police to carry out its task as it has done so far but with more media," and thanked the Interior Minister "the Spain Government's commitment to the region in general and in particular Lorca. "
The new police station of the National Police in Lorca has about 4,000 square meters, which is almost double the size of the current station, dating from 1956. It will allow to offer more and better services and accommodate about 150 agents.
It has three floors above the ground and two underground.
The area to the public housing services ID card and passport, the Office of Citizen Services, and on the top floor is the Zone headquarters.
In the two underground garage floors, dungeon and a gallery with a shooting range of 25 meters and a classroom shooting proximity, besides machinery and storage facilities are located.
The new station is located on 'The road cat', an expanding area where you are placing other public facilities newly built and has easy access.
The works, paid entirely by the Ministry of Interior, have cost more than three million euros.
Before visiting the facilities of the new police station, Interior Minister also inaugurated the square where it is located and which is now called 'National Police Square'.
