The Joint Commission has already solved 99.4% of the applications and granted 78.3 million euros

The Joint Commission, established for the management of aid and follow-up support to the victims because of the earthquakes in Lorca, today approved, at its 39th meeting, 46 new cases of aid amounting to 468,472.71 euros, bringing to 16,010 the total cases resolved and 78.35 million euros worth of aid granted.

After the meeting, the government delegate, Antonio Sanchez Solis, Minister of Public Works, Francisco Barnabas, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, have evaluated the management and efficiency of officials of the three governments, which has solved and 99.4 of applications.

Barnabas indicated that only 89 missing records for processing, of which eighty correspond to the same building.

The Government delegate praised the commitment of the Government of Spain with the city of Lorca since the beginning of the legislature, translated, he said, in implementing measures amounting to 800 million euros for the recovery and reconstruction of the city, its heritage and economic fabric.

"There are many thousands of cases resolved and many millions of euros in aid to individuals invested in the reconstruction of heritage and infrastructure and measures to revive the economy.

This commitment is also manifested by the usual presence of several ministers who are interested in situ by rebuilding the city, "said the government delegate.

Lorca's mayor expressed his satisfaction with the work done so far, although it has expressed concern over the issues yet to be resolved by being prosecuted by failing to come to an agreement between owners of some buildings and Compensation Consortium insurance regarding damage assessment.

"There are also some buildings whose owners are undecided as to the demolition or rehabilitation, and we do not know if we will ask for support for something or other while time to apply for grants run out," said Francisco Jodar.
