The Ministry of Public Works will invest 2 million to prevent flooding on roads that cross the Rambla de Viznaga of Lorca (02/05/2016)

The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Bernabé, with the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today introduced the expansion project drainage works road RM-11 (Lorca-Eagles) and RM-621 (Lorca Purias) passing on the Rambla de Viznaga, and that "will double the drainage capacity and avoid the effects and damage to possible flooding."

This action will have a budget of two million euros.

Bernabe said that the Rambla Viznaga collects water from the wadis of the Torrecilla, Bejar and part of the Nogalte, which means it can reach a very important flow, as happened in the flood of St. Wenceslas also has the distinction that does not have a defined channel and its drainage capacity during the years has been declining in the vicinity of the road Lorca-Eagles.

The work, whose execution time is six months, will include the construction of 22 new frames between the two roads, in addition to the 21 existing frameworks.

The works to be performed on the RM-621 highway, which connects the city of Lorca with his deputation of Purias, contemplate the construction of 8 new arches of 4.50 meters wide by 3 light meters high, so you will a total 13 frames.

Its drainage capacity will be doubled, after increasing by 400 cubic meters per second.

Improved road Lorca-Los Alporchones

The Minister for Public Works and Infrastructure also presented the project to improve the RM-D7 road between Lorca The Alporchones and will involve an investment of 1.83 million euros.

The performance will focus on a stretch of 3.7 kilometers of the route, which runs along Lorca and connects with the RM-D8, linking the city with the coast and the Way of the Valencians, in the hamlet of Los lorquina Alporchones .

With a lead time of eight months, the work will consist of the preparation and conditioning of the firm on a platform of 7 meters wide, forming gutters, roadworks and drainage, as well as horizontal and vertical signage.

It will also equip the asphalt road over the last 2.8 kilometers, which lacked so far.

Previously, on this road, which has a length of 13.5 kilometers, a first repair firm action was performed in the first 10 kilometers.
