The Minister of Health, Encarna Guillen, reported today that his Department will conduct a study, as it has been agreed with the City of Lorca, to analyze the need to include a second Emergency Department of Primary Care (SUAP) in its 'Plan emergency and health emergencies' for the town of Lorca.
Guillen made the remarks at the press conference at the health center Lorca Sutullena, which was accompanied by the manager of Murciano Health Service, Francisco Agulló and the manager of the health area III-Lorca, Catalina Lorenzo.
During his visit to the new facilities, the minister maintained contact with professionals and patients of the town of Lorca.
Also, he emphasized that "there is a closure, but a move justified by the living conditions and the demand for professionals themselves SUAP".
Guillen stressed that "the objective is to ensure and guarantee the quality of care offered to patients and to enable professionals to perform their work in optimal conditions."
It is therefore "an improvement for Lorca, as new agencies SUAP are the most modern and give a boost to attendance in the municipality".
The new SUAP of Lorca Sutullena opened its doors yesterday, keeping the same schedule and the same resourcing that when it was located in downtown San Diego Lorca health.
Office hours for outside emergencies in Lorca Sutullena is, as so far, Monday to Saturday from 15:00 pm to 8:00 am the following day and in the mornings, from 08:00 to 15:00 hours , ads are served via public and address.
On Sundays and holidays, 24 hours care will be offered continuously at the premises of the new SUAP.
Now the SUAP is located in premises specifically designed to accommodate this service and also represents a substantial improvement of the sanitary supply in the municipality.
With this new infrastructure, patients are offered an observation room, which was not before the SUAP health center of San Diego.
It has also increased the number of medical consultations, reduced from two to three.
On the other hand, the move has also led to the creation of a catheterization laboratory, which may serve three patients simultaneously and always respecting patient privacy;
and provided with more space the treatment room.
Health services in the health area III-Lorca serve a population of 172,000 inhabitants of the municipalities of Eagles, Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, Aledo and Totana.
Specifically, the town of Lorca has a UME, an Emergency Department of Primary Care, four health centers and 20 offices, being the referral hospital Rafael Mendez.
