Lorca City Council has borrowed over the past five years more than 5.6 million euros, reaching 61,096,000 € public debt.
This is information disclosed by the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Spain, which revealed that while 9 out of 10 Spanish consistories reduced their debt during fiscal 2015, Lorca remains part of the statistics of municipalities following borrowing in Spain.

Abellán recalled that during the last 9 years of the Popular Party in the city of Lorca, debt to banks has increased almost by 3, increasing by 282%, from 30 million debt in 2007 to over 70 million today, with the latest loans approved by the PP alone.
The socialist mayor expects that the debt will continue to rise, to the extent that the Popular Party continue pulling gunpowder King at the expense of money of all Lorca.
