From Citizens want to denounce the lack of planning by the Department of Culture and Celebrations of the City of Lorca recent Night of Museums which will take place this Saturday 21 May.
The night programming, including activities, schedules and events, has been announced by the Councillor Agustin Llamas yesterday 16 with only five days in advance.
From the municipal group, through our councilman Antonio Mecca, and denounced in plenary last of 27 April poor planning and total lack of advertising Night of Museums 2016 less than a month of the date thereof.
Finally the Department of Culture and Celebrations has not solved the poor planning and programming has been announced just five days before their realization.
This delay has prevented clearly give adequate publicity inside and especially outside our town to the Museum Night 2016. An early planning and dissemination would have served to attract regional, national and international tourism quality to our town.
Even without announcing the date and Night scheduling in advance it is very difficult for potential visitors can plan to visit our town that day.
We consider this a missed opportunity given the great potential of our municipality in museum and tourist matter after reopening this year the Archaeological Museum and the strong presence of the various Museums Steps Easter.
By way of example Cartagena has made a rich website dedicated exclusively to the Night of Museums which includes all programming and was available for public consultation for some months now.
Our City Council has instead decided that it is enough to launch a statement just five days before the appointment.
There is also a website dedicated specifically to the Night of Museums in Lorca.
We believe it is another demonstration of the lack of interest in our City and the PP shows for Culture capitalized.
