20 Belarusian children arrive on Saturday to the city to spend the summer with families Lorca (24/06/2016)

This is the foster care program Summer, promoted by the Association of Families of solidarity with the Belarusian people of Lorca, which this year is composed of 78 Belarussian children.

The stay in Spain of Belarusian children ends on August 24, so a perfect period for which children can enjoy good Mediterranean food and better living conditions

Oenegés Councilwoman City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, has reported that on Saturday June 25th the city will reach 78 Belarusian children, aged between 7 and 17 who spend their summer holidays with Spanish families.

This is the program of temporary shelter summer, which this year is composed of 78 Belarussian children.

This initiative promoted by the Association of Families of solidarity with the Belarusian people of Lorca has been developing for 20 consecutive years.

Children are welcomed by families that are approved by social services and who reside mostly in the valley of Guadalentín.

The stay in Spain of Belarusian children starts tomorrow and ends on August 24.

This is a perfect time for children to enjoy the good Mediterranean food and better living conditions.

Fátima Mínguez added that "of the 78 minors from Belarus, 20 children will spend these months of vacation in our city, which will arrive tomorrow after being 2-day trip through Europe. This initiative produces numerous benefits for children and that following the Chernobyl disaster, the regions where these children live are hurt by the fallout stemming from the nuclear accident, since these territories remain radioactive contamination ".

The Family Solidarity with the Belarusian people, power and better every year its activity, and not only is dedicated to this holiday program association but also the rest of the year sponsors very concrete actions in their own areas of that country as the Mogilev region where they originated these children directly affected by the Chernobyl nuclear incident.

This situation represents a constant danger to the health of children who breathe polluted air and also eat radioactively contaminated products.

Therefore, the temporary stay in a ecologically clean country like Spain, produces a beneficial effect on the health of these children.

According to studies, at least 45 days are needed to mitigate the effects of radiation on children's bodies with nutritional deficiencies and thus to reduce the consequences that may have them produce.

In previous years, children who participated in those benefiting returned home with their health and strengthened with increased body weight between 3 and 5 kg. Per child.

These data, along with the experiences of each of the minor favor each year continue to address the needs of children and encourage much-needed aid.
