Development invests more than 30 million euros in reconstruction and improvement of roads and neighborhoods of Lorca (01/07/2016)

The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure is currently developing various measures of reconstruction and improvement of roads and neighborhoods of Lorca worth over 30 million euros, including major projects such as the Central Round, improving drainage of the Rambla de Viznaga, the urban renewal of the Alameda de Cervantes and neighborhoods of Los Angeles and Apolonia.

In collaboration with the City of Lorca, executed works on Avenida Juan Carlos I and renewal of infrastructure in the district of San Fernando.

The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, said the investments held in Lorca during a meeting with the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lorca, Juan Francisco Gomez;

Pedro Rivera recalled that the works have already been awarded the first installment of the Central round, which will connect the districts of Apolonia and San Diego, with an investment of 6.9 million euros, and have also contracted the work to renovate Alameda de Cervantes and adjacent spaces, which was damaged by the earthquake of 2011, with a budget of 3.2 million euros.

Also, they are bidding on the works of the second phase of the Central round, connecting the San Diego Avenue Santa Clara, with an investment of 5.6 million euros;

the expansion of the drainage works of the Rambla de Viznaga at the junction with the RM-11 and RM-621, highways with a tender budget amounting to 2 million euros, and urban renewal Avenue Juan Carlos I, with an investment of 6.3 million euros.

The owner of Public Works said that "the regional government continues to focus on the municipality, investment in new infrastructure and the reconstruction of the areas damaged by the earthquake," adding that "Lorca is a new city thanks to the efforts of each and reconstruction remains a priority. "

The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure last month also signed the joint project contract drafting and execution of works for the renovation of the neighborhood of Los Angeles and Apollonia, an amount of 3.9 million euros, and the agreement for renewal the district of San Fernando, with 2.6 million euro budget.

Pedro Rivera recalled that have already rebuilt four full quarters Vineyard, Alfonso X, San Jose and San Diego, there are six works in the districts and are in place procedures for the renewal of Alameda de Cervantes, Apolonia, San Fernando and Avenida Juan Carlos I.

Between 2016 and 2017, 50.3 million euros will be invested in rebuilding neighborhoods, and Total will have allocated 88.32 million euros to improve 20 districts with 40,000 residents benefited.
