The Ministry of Education and Universities has recently tendered the works of urbanization and sports areas common institutes Jose Ibanez Martin and Francisco Ros Giner de Lorca.

The performances, which have an investment of more than one million euros, will equip both centers of a new common space with recreational sports areas that complement the common sports hall that is already in the final stages of construction.

The general director of Educational Centers, Maria Dolores Valcárcel, accompanied by the Councillor for Education of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, visited two schools in which is developing this integrated action.

Maria Dolores Valcarcel said that "this is a new action rather than the Ministry develops in Lorca and more than 2,200 students studying at both institutes will benefit."

Thus, it is intended to develop a large existing open space around the buildings of both centers so you can acquire different functions depending on the needs of the academic program of the two institutes involved.

The playground will be configured from a space in a 'U' stands created based on leveraging existing sports court and the steep terrain and trees, adjacent to the southeast facade of the IES Ibanez Martin.

Much of that open space is intended for sporting use.

Physical activities may take place in the four new sports courts planned, some of which will have a line stands.

In addition, two buildings locker rooms, each with up to 30 people and built area of ​​176.58 m2, located in the position that allows better use be constructed for each of the two autonomous institutes, which also include dependencies that can be used as physical education seminar.

Complementing the sports use, a tour or cross circuit with a length of 527 meters, which runs between all existing parts on campus, and a track to sprint 50 meters in length are projected.

Within the enclosure, it has planned a parking area for cars, motorcycles and bicycles, reserved for teachers and other for students to park two wheelers.

On the other hand, are already in the final construction of the new sports hall which share the institutes Ibanez Martin and Francisco Ros Giner, within the framework of the strategy '+ Educational Quality + School Success', which one of its objectives main is to improve the educational infrastructure in the region.

The budget exceeds 900,000 euros, supplemented by tendering foreign urbanization.

The sports center, which will also host school activities, have two separate entrances, one from the playground of the centers and the other from the street Maria Agustina.

The architecture distinguishes between two zones: a lower altitude, where clothes, sports equipment stores, user access lobby and boiler room are included.

The other space, a height of nine meters, will house only the sports hall.

The sports area will include the layout of regulatory handball courts, football, basketball, volleyball and three basketball, located transversely to the above for training.
