The Socialist Party calls to proceed with the repainting of road markings of the city to improve the safety of drivers and pedestrians (17/08/2016)

Councilman Municipal Socialist Group, David Romera, said that "road markings city need an overview, and it passes through the repainting of those that appear deleted or are poorly visible over time and your continued use" since "constitute an element of first order road safety to be maintained in the most appropriate measures to ensure the safety of both drivers and bicycle and pedestrian conditions."

Considers Romera that "road markings, despite its importance as a complement to other types of road signs to preserve order and security urban traffic, in Lorca are very neglected, because they are not given the importance they actually have" in such a way that "no crosswalks or traffic islands that are virtually priceless intersection."

"In fact, several investigations conducted in the United States and the Netherlands reveal quetener properly painted road markings reduces the risk of accidents by 36%," says the socialist mayor.

Therefore, the PSOE councilor urges the government team of PP to break out in the shortest period of time, taking advantage of the summer period and especially in view of the upcoming Fair and Festival of Lorca, "the repainting of those urban sections where road markings appear deleted or are little visible, especially in the case of crosswalks and intersections, being a low-cost operation that improves road safety for all agents that travel on public roads ".
