Lorca City Council allocated more than 120,000 euros to carry out projects to support the family and children in our town (24/08/2016)

The Councillor for Social Services City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, reported this morning that the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has granted the Consistory Lorca a grant of 120,161 euros from the budgets of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality for the development of projects to support the family and children in our town.

The Councillor for Social Services said that "the main objective of these actions is the fight against poverty, enhancing efficiency and access to social services to improve care for the most vulnerable people, thus meeting the conditions of severe material deprivation of families with dependent children through social services ".

Fátima Mínguez explained that "in our town the amount of this grant is to be allocated to two types of projects. The first is aimed at alleviating and improving the situation of social vulnerability of families, covering basic needs and facilitating access other services such as health (purchase of medicines, vaccines and transportation to health centers), education (aid to meet the need of food in the summer period covered by school canteens during the course), housing ( rental and improving the living conditions of housing, supplies, etc.) and employment, as well as support and social work with families. "

The mayor of Social Services added that "the second type of project is to support the family reconciliation and is intended for families in processes of socio-labor integration with dependent children, such as expenses for nursery schools, care children props needs to cover conciliation services complementary support educational or other regulatory services that guarantee the right of children to care and proper development ".
