Young Lorca can travel as volunteers to Thailand, Nepal or India through the "Charger" project developed by Cazalla Intercultural and the Department of Youth (02/11/2016)

Councilman Youth council of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, with Manuel Semitiel, Cazalla Intercultural, presented the "Charger" project to promote the mobility of young Lorca and to receive young Europeans who reside temporarily in Our city.

Llamas has announced that "through this initiative funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Commission and coordinated by Cazalla Intercultural, 6 young Murcia will travel to Thailand, Nepal or India for 5 or 6 months to participate in various projects as volunteers. specifically 19 places for young people from Spain, France, Poland, India, Nepal and Thailand volunteer projects between March 1 and August 31, 2017 "are offered.

The mayor stressed that "" Charger "is aimed at young unemployed, inactive and unmotivated, who will have the opportunity to train and participate actively in the local community acquiring transversal skills that will facilitate the entry into the labor market. This workshop will be conducted emprendurismo, leadership, communication skills, teamwork, etc. the workshops will be conducted by members of the various partner organizations, who previously formed on a course to be held in Lorca for a week in February next year. "

6 young Murcia participants may participate in these 3 projects:

SVE in Thailand: volunteers collaborate on projects focusing on organic farming and education.

The main activity will take place in the Villa de la Paz, where the VSA host organization coordinates several activities: creative teaching English, where volunteers promote intercultural communication and learning;

Construction of Community Center for international and local volunteers;

I work in organic gardens;

organizing events to promote peace and sustainable development;

participation during weekends in labor camps that the VSA organization is carrying out in different parts of the region.

SVE in Nepal: volunteers collaborate with the community in Okhlunga region, in the village of Taluwa, where the organization is active in different fields: education, work with children, youth work, health education and hygiene.

Volunteers develop different types of classes (English, computer classes for teachers, classes in the field of leisure and free time for children, where transversal skills improve).

SVE in India: two types of projects are held: (a) water management, sustainable development and environmental education where volunteers implement studies on water in the community, creating databases for people to know what are the safe places are collecting water, and environmental education activities will be implemented.

And (b) education: volunteers collaborate with a school for children aged 6 to 11 years which shall be aimed teach English and make education more interesting children.

Those interested in participating in any of these three projects should be between 18 and 30 years and can apply the square until November 10th through the web www.bevolunteer.net.

Those selected will receive accommodation, meals, activities and support as well as 55 euros a month in pocket money and 820 euros for travel expenses.

They will also pay private insurance, participation in the training cycle and visa costs and vaccinations.

29 youth workers from 14 countries have participated in Lorca in the "YouthActually" project

On the other hand, the mayor of Youth has taken stock of the "YouthActually" project, held in Lorca from 27 October until today.

Llamas said that "during these 6 days we received 29 youth workers from France, Portugal, Turkey, Macedonia, Jordan, Morocco, Germany, Latvia, Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Romania, in addition to Spain. Through this seminar response to the real needs of workers, professionals and youth leaders in Europe was given. this has been analyzed constant changes that affect young people such as migration flows, hate speech against immigrants, Islamophobia, etc ".

Specifically, the participants discussed the challenges that young workers face when working with young people, addressing issues of tolerance and inclusion and taking into account the reality of rejection and hate speech around them, while methods to overcome these challenges were sought.

They have also been determined necessary to build an intercultural dialogue between young and interreligios skills.

The "YouthActually" project carried out by Cazalla Intercultural in cooperation with the Department of Youth City Council and funded by the Erasmus + program has included the development of a methodological schedule tailored to the needs of the participants and following the principles of non-formal education to create results that benefit professionals in juvenile matters.

Thus, it has managed to collect good practices on prevention and education, just as they have glossed recommendations on competencies for professionals engaged in this field.

Llamas stressed that "Lorca, thanks to the participation of Cazalla Intercultural remains a benchmark in Europe in terms of programs that foster exchanges and mobility of young people.
