The PSOE still working for social clauses to be included in public procurement (02/11/2016)

Lorca socialist advance in the proposed inclusion of social clauses in municipal procurement to promote the recruitment of unemployed Lorca most at risk of social exclusion.

Long-term unemployed, over-45s, women and youth would be favored if the PP decides to recognize their mistakes and attend to these initiatives that the PSOE has raised this morning

Lorca socialist advance in the proposed inclusion of social clauses in municipal contracting.

This was highlighted by the councilman of the PSOE, Antonio Navarro, after presenting this morning a letter to the Mayor, with which these proposals were to reveal the team's governing Popular Party.

The mayor recalled that in the Municipal Council of 25 January 2016, the PSOE presented a motion calling for the inclusion of social clauses in the contractual terms for those companies that choose to provide works and services to the City of Lorca.

This motion, recalls, "was approved unanimously by the groups with municipal representation".

With its proposals, the PSOE wants social clauses are included in all contracts for work and / or services that perform all the departments of the City of Lorca, with which recruitment coming from groups at risk of social exclusion is required (over 45, women, young, or disabled), and prioritizing the levels of need for these unemployed.

As indicated, this baremación and the level of need "always respond to the criteria of Social Services City of Lorca".

The PSOE also propose that those companies that promote job quality, precisely to combat insecurity that prevails in today's job market rewards.

Thus, they propose that companies that commit to transform temporary contracts into permanent or fixed, or to hire new staff indefinite or fixed rate positively.

For the PSOE, it should also be given special advantage that these companies opting to the award of works and services commit to design and implement equality plans, with a focus on eliminating wage gaps, the under-representation of women in control or direction, or to promote the reconciliation of work and family life, with measures such as flexitime or setting up nurseries in the workplace itself, among others. "respect and care for the environment would also be scoring criterion when these awards.

Thus, according to Antonio Navarro, the PSOE continues to demonstrate his "tireless commitment" for job creation in the city, facing the "little active policies" undertaken by the government team of the Popular Party in recent years.

A clear example of this "political inaction" has denounced the Socialist mayor, is the "little impact that the works carried out in recent years for the recovery of the city after the earthquake has had on the high unemployment registered in the municipality and, in particular, on sectors of society Lorca with more difficulties in accessing the labor market. "

In this sense, Antonio Navarro was recalled that in 2013, year of great activity for the reconstruction of the city, when the number of unemployed in Lorca exceeded the figure of 8,000 people unemployed.

Data showing that "the city of Lorca was unable to seize the opportunity arose after misfortune, to promote job creation in the city taking advantage of the arrival of large investments."

Thus, from the PSOE they want to break the "triumphalism" that the PP used when talking about job creation in the municipality under its mandate.
