The Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Pagán, presided today the act of start of construction of the new firehouse Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Region of Murcia (CEIS) in Lorca.
Under the contract award of the works, the new park should be built within a year and will replace the current temporary facilities, operating from the old park unusable as a result of the earthquakes of May 11, 2011 .
The event was attended, besides the Minister of Presidency, the mayors of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, Francisco Jodar Angeles and Tunisia, respectively, the general director of Public Safety and Emergency, Manuel Duran, and the manager of CEIS, Alfonso Garcia.
Maria Dolores Pagán stressed that the Fire "is a step very important front in the enormous task of building this new Lorca and as we have the opportunity to see day after day, allows us to have a better city that damaged the earthquakes".
The new park will serve directly to the towns of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, totaling more than 100,000 inhabitants form, but will have a catchment area of ​​over 300,000, to provide support to 12 people more.
The Minister thanked the firefighters Lorca "professionalism, and willingness to serve the essential service they have entrusted, overcoming the difficulties arising from the situation of tentativeness that have to live".
The new fire station is built on the same plot where the old, which had to be demolished, in the polygon 'Peńones' Lorca.

Construction has been awarded a budget of 1,064,722 euros.
The ship garage, aimed at fighting vehicles and individual workers, will be built on the ground floor and basement.
