Adoración Peñas has given a press conference this morning to echo the claim of the parents of students of Sacred Heart College who claim the reinstatement of educational support professionals who have stopped providing services in the center because of the cuts in education.
According to Peñas, because of these cuts, the center's therapeutic pedagogical staff has moved from the three members of the previous course to one, while the speech therapy service has lost one of the three members with whom it counts.
For the mayor, although the cut does not seem excessive, this has implied a significant reduction in the attention to the students leaving six of them of different levels of Primary, outside the program of speech therapy, without giving them an explanation of the criteria to have been Excluded and without being notified.
This suppression of two months in the continuous attention that they received, can suppose to delay its educational development considerably, having a negative repercussion in its evolution and leading them to scholastic failure.
Therefore, given the seriousness of the situation and although competition in educational matters corresponds to the Autonomous Community, Peñas requires the Councilor in charge of the branch in Lorca, Mr. Francisco Montiel cease to be an ornament within the government team and assume Their responsibility in this matter, pressing the Ministry not to leave these students and their families without the protection and without the resource they had been counting until last June.
