More than 1,100 users throughout the municipality have registered during the past year in the Municipal Network of Libraries of Lorca (16/01/2017)

The most read titles among adults in 2016 have been "La chica del tren", "Historia de un canalla" and "Episodios nacional", while the most read by children and youth users have been "El niño que ser ser Tintín" , "The world of the letters" and the comic "Keroro".

The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, announced the statistical data for the year 2016 regarding visits to school programs, meetings with author, loans made, activities carried out during the year, as well as the Total readership and new users of the Municipal Library Network of Lorca.

Francisco Montiel stated that "in the last year 1,120 readers have registered in the Municipal Library Network, of which 498 are adult users, 617 are children and 5 groups. In addition, throughout the year other initiatives have been carried out such as emotional education workshops in which 300 children participated, "The Night in Flamenco: a journey through the arrows of Easter", activities to commemorate World Book Day Both in the libraries of the urban center and in the districts, the 21st Story Marathon "Lorca, city of story", the participation in the "Library and Society", storytelling sessions in the children's and youth library on the occasion of the Day Of the Library, handicraft workshop, literary contest in the Library of Purias, 6 sessions of storytelling in the libraries of districts (Cazalla, La Paca, Zarcilla de Ramos, La Hoya, Purias and Tercia) and library staff visit to the children Hospitalized.
