The Councilor for Health and Consumer Affairs in the City of Lorca, María del Carmen Ruiz, has reported that more than 300 Lorca schoolchildren from the schools of La Torrecilla, Pasico Campillo and San José have participated in the awareness campaign with animals that has been developing This municipal area.

Ruiz Jódar explained that from the Department of Health and Consumer is committed to the formation and dissemination of the principles of animal welfare, being the will of the service to strengthen the sensitivity and respect for animals among the Lorca population.

The Minister of Health has detailed that the municipal veterinarians, in accordance with the didactic material prepared by the External Chair of Animal Welfare of the University of Cadiz, and in collaboration with the Official College of Veterinarians of Murcia, are giving the talk called "Animals Of company: for them and for us ".

We are talking about an educational action in which the little ones are transferred information on animal welfare and responsible holding of pets.

The students to whom it is addressed belong to the second cycle of elementary schools in the municipality.

Ruiz Jódar has indicated that the schools of La Torrecilla (50 children), San José (100 children) and Pasico-Campillo (150 children) have already been visited.

The workshop has been offered to all schools in the municipality, and we continue to encourage the centers that have not yet done so to participate, since it is an extremely enriching experience for students, as they receive valuable training that makes them take Awareness and how to react to hypothetical episodes or situations of animal abuse.

The fact that children have this type of resources precisely at an early age contributes to their formation with basic principles for their social development, such as respect for animals and their protection.

The Councilor has stated that the main objective of this cycle of talks in schools is that children learn to know and value the animals closest to the human being and adopt behavioral modes that favor their care.
