The works for the improvement of six streets of the district of San Cristóbal de Lorca with an investment of 670,000 euros are going out to bid (11/02/2017)

This neighborhood is expected to perform in 58 streets with a budget that exceeds 7.5 million euros

The works of integral remodeling of the district of San Cristóbal in Lorca continue with the licitation of the works of improvement in six more streets, with an expected investment of more than 670,000 euros.

The actions, which will take place in Juan López, Miguel Ángel, Funes, Montijo, Beteta and Aragón streets, will consist of the burial and replacement of infrastructures of services such as sanitation and supply of drinking water, telecommunications, electricity supply, for the purpose To remove the cables from the facades, and in some places will replace the pipes and rainwater collection.

In addition, the project envisages the paving of cobblestone streets and the installation of new streetlights with LED lighting, to facilitate energy saving.

The works in the Beteta and Aragón streets have a term of execution of six months, whereas the works in Juan López, Miguel Angel, Funes and Montijo will have a duration of seven months, to be of greater extension.

The works for the improvement of these streets were published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) last Thursday.

The companies will be able to present their offers until the 13 of March.

The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Pedro Rivera, said that "this action shows the commitment of the regional government with the municipality of Lorca and its renovation," and recalled that "in the neighborhood of San Cristóbal the action contemplates works in a Total of 58 streets, with an investment of more than 7.5 million euros. "

Specifically, work has already been completed in 25 streets, work is underway in 8 and is expected to perform in 25 more, including the 6 that have been put out to tender this week.

"With the execution of all these actions, the renovation of streets and infrastructures in the San Cristóbal neighborhood would be completely finished," said Rivera.

The works are financed by a grant from the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure to the City of Lorca, which assumes the execution of the works.

The grant is made from the Community loan with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the reconstruction and repair of public spaces and infrastructure in the city following earthquakes.
