This action is part of the second phase of the project of comprehensive renovation of the neighborhood, which will total remodel 58 streets and will invest 7.5 million euros
The district of San Cristóbal in Lorca consolidates its integral renewal with the improvement of urban environments, services and the replacement of pipelines and the collection of rainwater in new streets.
This action has already been put out to tender in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) for an overall budget of 681,842 euros.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Pedro Rivera, said that "this project is part of the regional government's commitment to rebuild Lorca under the concept of a new city based on the creation of employment, economic progress and greater welfare ".
Rivera stressed that the remodeling of the San Cristobal neighborhood is being carried out according to a schedule of actions to "harmonize the daily life of the thousands of neighbors who live in this neighborhood with these jobs."
"It will be encouraged, as requested specifically by citizens, the improvement of all supply services in the city of Lorca and fundamentally affect their day to day, but also that will remodel the streets and drive a more accessible city "Said the Minister of Development.
The works will be carried out on Charco Street and include the urbanization of a new opening street planned in the General Plan parallel to Turbinto Street and the old bridge that will lead to Calle Mayor and Charco towards Calle San Fernando.
This action is part of the second phase of action in the neighborhood, which includes the remodeling of 33 streets and is endowed with an investment of 4.5 million euros.
Improvement of services
The work, which will take place over a period of eight months, will focus on the renewal of all electricity, water, sanitation and telecommunications services, as well as on improving water and water collection, particularly in Episodes of rain.
Particular importance will also be attached to accessibility and energy efficiency with the installation of LED luminaires in all the street lighting of these streets, as it is being carried out in the other urban roads being refurbished.
With the opening of the tender, interested companies will have until March 27 to submit their projects.
The Board of Hiring of the City of Lorca will analyze from April 4 economic and technical proposals in order to start work before the summer.
The works are financed by the Autonomous Community within the action plan that develops in the city with charge of the European Investment Bank (EIB) loan, and will be executed by the City Council.
Work continues
The intervention in these roads is part of a much larger project to renovate the Lorca neighborhood of San Cristóbal, which covers a total of 58 streets and involves an investment by the Community of more than 7.5 million euros.
Of the 58 streets, work has already been completed in 25, work is underway in 8 and it is planned to perform in 25 more, including the roads that have just been put out to tender this week.
